Mardi Gras is a time or amazing celebration and traditions that friends and families of all ages take part in. And of course Walt Disney World makes sure to incorporate these traditions in their parks during the holiday. At the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida there are two resorts that are themed after parts of Louisiana including the French Quarter. These resorts are: Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter, and during the Mardi Gras season they have some offerings to enjoy the holidays. And this year is going to be a celebration!

February 2nd marked the 30th celebration of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside! Starting March 1 this year and there’s no better place to enjoy that than at a Disney resort in the middle of the magic already taking place during the 50th anniversary celebration. So laissez les bons temps rouler, or let the good times roll, and try these five ways to get in the spirit of Mardi Gras at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts.
Beginning Feb. 4, a group of live musicians will be entertaining Guests at the Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. Guests can enjoy amazing food and beverages including the brand-new Bebop Bloody Mary specialty cocktail and the Oyster Beignet Po Boy!
These delicious pillow like treats are like no other. Dusted with powdered sugar and accompanied with dipping sauces. These make a wonderful treat and fitting treat for celebrating Mardi Gras here. These special doughnuts at Scat Cat’s Club – Cafe.
Guests can rent bikes with either two wheels or four- surrey bikes are also available at the Riverside Levee Marina. These can be ridden around both Port Orleans Resorts.
Inside Port Orleans Riverside is a table service dining option, Boatwright’s Dining Hall. Bringing many flavors of the Louisiana Bayou right to your table. Not only can you experience home style cooking but the atmosphere is so inviting.

Right through the middle of the resorts is a beautifully winding river. Guests can not only enjoy the sights while walking the paths but there are also boats that guests can take between the resorts as well as to Disney Springs. Beginning Feb. 4, horse-drawn carriage rides will be offered as well.
These resorts have so many features that can really enhance your stay! From the amazing food to the uplifting entertainment these resorts are really fantastic options!
