It has been announced that MagicBand+ is launching at Walt Disney World Resort on July 27th! MagicBand+ can do everything a MagicBand can do and more. It allows you to enter the theme parks with just a tap, allow guests to experience some amazing photo pass options and even unlock your resort rooms. MagicBand+ also has other amazing features including color-changing lights, haptic vibrations and gesture recognition – plus it pairs to a smartphone using the My Disney Experience app. Once this launches guests will be able to pick from 25 themed bands.

As part of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration, guests can interact with the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection throughout all four theme parks with the “Disney Fab 50 Quest.” Guests will be able to bring the sculpture to life across all four Walt Disney World theme parks - with a little help from Tinkerbell and her virtual pixie dust. Guests can wave their hand by the sculptures for different reactions!
Over in Batuu the MagicBand+ is the guide to seeking numerous virtual bounties hidden across Black Spire Outpost with the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters experience. Vibrations and lights will lead you down the right path. Once you find your Bounty, you can use the Play Disney Parks app’s augmented reality thermal viewer to reveal who’s hiding in the shadows.
During “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom Park and “Harmonious” at EPCOT! MagicBand+ takes part in the magic by lighting up and vibrating in sync with fireworks, visual effects, and music. Another amazing feature is that it will also engage as all four theme park icons transform into Beacons of Magic!
Guests will need to make sure that MagicBand+ is charged, up to date and linked to a device. Disney resort guests may purchase online at a special rate before their arrival. Or guests can also purchase at select stores across Walt Disney World and online at shopDisney, starting at $34.99. More information regarding MagicBand+ will be released in the near future!
