It has been announced that this summer Walt Disney World Resort will launch the newest wearable MagicBand+, followed later this year by the “Hey Disney!” digital voice assistant. products will enhance guest visits throughout the 50th anniversary celebration and more. MagicBand technology has made visiting the parks as convenient as a tap of the band when entering parks. guest rooms, and even making retail and dining purchase. Guests can links a credit card to their band and set up a PIN to allow them to have charging privileges, but don’t worry not everyone has to have access to the card on file! Guests can also create and access their PhotoPass services with their MagicBand. But what will MagicBand+ do? All of that and then more…

Throughout the Most Magical Celebration guests have seen the parks come to life with commemorative gold statues to honor characters that have brought the movies to life. MagicBand+ can now bring these sculptures to life! Guests will be able to interact the “Disney Fab 50 Quest.” You will be able to also use Play Disney Parks mobile app to keep track of which sculptures you’ve found. As you go, the more you find, the more features you can unlock with digital achievements and an augmented reality feature that will give you a glimpse into your favorite characters’ worlds. It is somewhat like a game!

MagicBand+ will also allow you to to join the “Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters” experience, where you’ll use your band to find numerous virtual bounties hidden throughout Black Spire Outpost when at Hollywood Studios park. Another awesome feature is that the MagicBand+ light up and complement the magic in the skies during nighttime spectaculars! When these release this summer Disney Resort hotel guests and Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will have the option to purchase at a discounted, pre-arrival price. Guests will still be able to use existing MagicBands and Disney MagicMobile.
Another new fun form of technology coming is “Hey Disney!,”which will use Alexa technology for supported Amazon Echo devices. Guests will be able to ask questions about the weather, or set an alarm clock and “Hey Disney!” will respond from more than 25 popular characters including Mickey Mouse, Olaf, Rocket and Groot, Princess Tiana and many more. When you stay at select Disney resorts you will even be able to use this feature to learn helpful information about your vacation, order room amenities and then some. “Hey Disney” will be arriving in select Disney Resort hotel rooms out throughout Walt Disney World later this year as part of the 50th anniversary celebration and access will be offered as a complimentary feature during guest stays.
