Recently announced at the Destination D23 event many live entertainment experiences will be returning to Walt Disney World resort during The World’s Most Magical Celebration! The best part is that some will be coming back with new enhancements.
A few months ago it was revealed that “Finding Nemo: The Musical” which took place in the Animal Kingdom park would be reimagined. The newly updated show will be called, “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” The show will follow the timeline of the movie “Finding Dory.” So far no actual date has been released other than sometime in 2022.
Another exciting announcement released by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, is that Fantasmic! Will be retuning to Hollywood Studios in 2022.
Magic Kingdom will be bringing live entertainment back the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage early next year, with a show newly enhanced for the 50th Anniversary celebration. Also, “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” will have scenes from previous versions of the snow- highlighting “Frozen,” “Tangled,” and “The Princess and the Frog.” There will be a few touches specifically for the 50th anniversary theme.

Since the parks reopened last year there was the new addition of character cavalcades due to popular demand those will be continuing in the future. Mickey and friends made were debuted on October 1st and later this winter the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade will be introduced. This cavalcade will feature the most characters of any cavalcade to date, including Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” Baloo and King Louie from “The Jungle Book,” José Carioca and Panchito from “The Three Caballeros,” Miguel from “Coco,” plus Merida, Moana, The Incredibles, and so many more!
Early in 2022 the cavalcades will be joined by the return of the Disney “Festival of Fantasy” Parade. This celebration of Fantasyland will have a wide array of characters and joyous music as the parade flows down Main Street USA.
