We recently got to tour the beautiful MSC Meraviglia, part of the MSC Cruises fleet! Sailing year-round from New York City, this state-of-the-art ship combines modern technology, luxury and entertainment to provide an exceptional sailing experience. The fun never stops on the MSC Meraviglia! There is the Sportsplex, a large and spacious court that provides a large arena where guests can play sports and games during the daytime, then socialize, party and dance in the evenings! The Amusement Park includes two F1 simulators, a bowling alley with two lanes, a 4D cinema, a flight simulator and a video games arcade next door.
MSC is a very kid-friendly cruise line, and there are supervised dedicated rooms to different age groups, for children ranging in age from 6 months old to 17 year. Baby Club is open for babies from six months to 36 months and a soft play area with age-appropriate toys, books and a TV. There is a separate room with cots for naps and a bathroom. Doremi Land, a dedicated kid’s club area, is sponsored by LEGO -- which means every room is LEGO-themed. There is also an interactive family room and a "Lab" where kids can use a 3-D printer, laptops and even conduct experiments. Doremi Land has a Mini Club for kids aged three to six years old and Junior Club for children aged 7 – 11. Tweens and Teens have their own spaces, with the Young Club for those aged 12 to 14 and the Teen Lounge for ages 14 – 17. There are innovative technological offerings as well as some crafts, and traditional games.
While the children are enjoying their supervised dedicated spaces, the grown-ups can enjoy a variety of adult-only areas, including a state-of-the-art TechnoGym, Casino Imperiale, and the beautiful Aurea Spa. This serene retreat offers a range of treatments and the spacious Thermal Suite. The Thermal Suite is a real sanctuary -- there are two different types of steam rooms, two types of saunas, a salt room, two relaxation rooms, two aromatherapy rooms, a snow grotto, a walk-through shower and two thalassotherapy pools. There are 5 pools on board MSC Meraviglia. The Polar Aqua Park, which is a must-do for families with multiple waterslides, splash pads, and even a ropes course perfect for thrill seekers!
There are a dozen bar and lounge options on board, including a Sports Bar, Brass Anchor Pub, and the Champagne Bar. These are perfect locations to grab a cocktail before heading to the Broadway Theater to watch one of the 6 shows performed nightly, or the Carousel Lounge which often hosts acrobatic, “nouveau cirque” style shows.
The main promenade on board the ship, the Galleria Meraviglia, has a 96- meter long promenade with shops, dining and a digital LED ceiling which displays stunning visuals throughout the day and night.
MSC has a partnership with Swarovski, the world’s leader in sparkling crystal creations. The Infinity Atrium is home to the sweeping and elegant dual Swarovski staircases, which make you feel like you’re walking on stars! This is a great spot for a photo op!
