Splash Mountain will be closed at Magic Kingdom starting Jan. 23, 2023. Your last day to ride with Br’er Rabbit and friends is Jan. 22, 2023. Splash mountain will be transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Splash Mountain holds a special place in my heart, it is the first “big ride” we got my boys on. I had to bribe my oldest to ride with Br’er Rabbit, Br’er Bear, and Br’er Fox stuffed animals. I know many of you have similar memories with this ride. Make sure to ride one last time and sing Zip-a-dee-doo-da all day long!
While I am sad to see my favorite attraction full of so many memories go, I am excited to see Tiana’s Bayou adventure and make new memories.
Disney World is known for having immersive attractions, and this will be no different. You will be transported from Orlando to New Orleans! Princess Tiana will join you in the bayou with alligator Louis during Mardi Gras. They will be getting ready for a special celebration they are hosting. As you go deeper into the bayou fireflies will help light up the night, they may even be waving you on as you go. The air will be filled with the beautiful sound of Zydeco music. This is a Louisiana special rhythm and blues mix.
Since we last saw Princess Tiana, she has met new friends in the bayou. A band that includes a rabbit, an otter, a beaver, a raccoon, a turtle and more! The band sings while playing instruments made out of materials found in the bayou. I wonder what their role is in this new story!
Zydeco is like many other musical genres, because it mixes the sounds and styles of multiple cultures together. Tiana wants all of us to feel welcome and join in the celebration.
Tiana’s Bayou adventure is expected to take us on a journey that is inspired by the movie and expands on what happened after it ended. There will be many familiar faces from the film as well as new friends that Tiana met after the film ended.
