Amidst the many incredible culinary offerings at Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya, you will find La Geisha: A Japanese Restaurant, served a la carte style and prepared on a teppanyaki grill, by your very own personal chef! Not only will your chef prepare the most delicious meal for you, but they will also put on a fantastic show as well.
I was lucky enough to experience this delicious delight firsthand and would love to share my experience with you! The evening started out with our entire party (of 15!) being escorted to our grill but the lovely hostess. We were immediately brought a variety of sushi, including veggie maki, salmon nigiri, tuna California roll, and a fruit California roll! On that same platter, we also had delicious gyozas-chinese dumplings made with cabbage, soy sauce, sesame seeds and pork.
Our next course consisted of Thai salad and Ramen Mushi (a Japanese Yasai made with vegetables and eggs). While we were enjoying all of these offerings, our chef was diligently preparing our meal, while also making us laugh quite a bit with his antics and jokes!
The main course was served and consisted of Veggie Yakimeshi (classic fried rice made with vegetables, eggs, ginger and soy sauce), as well as a variety of original Japanese Teppanyaki with chicken breast, veal, shrimp, fish fillet and vegetables. I think it is also important to note that only sustainably caught and 100% responsible seafood is served to guests here.
Our evening ended with an incredibly delectable sweet tasting. We were served traditional green tea, cheesecake, lime pie and yuzu, as well as lichi coconut cream.
The authentic Japanese environment, friendly staff and amazing food left a very lasting impression and I would highly recommend that anyone visiting Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya (or eligible sister complexes) dine at La Geisha.
