Welcome my holiday foodie friends! There is finally some news regarding our soon to be favorite treats that will be offered at Disney Jollywood Nights that is being hosted inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Beginning November 11, 2023, this special event will be held on select nights throughout the holiday season until December 20, 2023. Disney Jollywood Nights is going to be a fabulous party with food, entertainment, and even some attractions!
The Hollywood Brown Derby will transform into a soulful jazz lounge with an exclusive menu for the event with small plates and craft cocktails. The small plates will feature menu items such as Oyster Rockefeller, Crispy Duck Drumettes, a beautiful Charcuterie board, and even the classic Shrimp Cocktail. Also gracing the menu will be two different varieties of bao buns, Pork Belly or Tofu.
The Hollywood Tower Hotel will be the central venue for The Tip Top Club, located in the Courtyard of the attraction. Guests will find a live band playing holiday tunes and cocktails. The cocktails are looking fabulous and I hope they make it to a regular menu after the holiday event. The 5th Dimension Royale, Twilight Daiquiri, and Sparkling Pomegranate-Apple Cider all sound absolutely amazing!
For the entertainment, Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog will be hosting the return of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM. This wonderful nighttime spectacular is a skillfully arranged display of music, lasers, video projections, and some fireworks! Check your event itinerary for display times!
Now the information we have all been waiting for…the Foodie Guide to the event! Select food and beverage locations will be offering exclusive event menu items. Starting off strong at the ABC Commissary, guest will find a menu named Holiday Fiesta en la Calle. Items like Chicken Empanadas with Street Corn, Yuka con Chickarron, and a Mushroom Taco will be featured. For dessert and drinks there will be a Tembleque, Mexican Hot Cocoa Cheesecake, and Mangonada. The Tembleque is a coconut rice pudding with cinnamon and caramel-rum sauce. The gorgeous Mexican Hot Cocoa Cheesecake is an amazing work of art that is meant to be eaten. The chocolate base, Spiced Chocolate Cheesecake center, topped with whipped cream, and finally featuring a chocolate “handle” on the side will be one of the cutest desserts you see!
Baseline Taphouse will have a bit of a smaller menu, but delicious nonetheless. A Tuna Ceviche crafted with ahi tuna, pico de gallo, and a refreshing avocado cream will grace the menu. Up next will be a Charcuterie Cup! The snack craze item will be made up of manchego, chorizo, serrano ham, pickled vegetables, and olives, then served with focaccia bread as described by Disney Destinations.
Dockside Diner is where the magic is happening this year! With three food menu items, one dessert, and two amazing looking beverages, guests are sure to find something delicious! Let’s start with the beverages. The Sandy Claws Hot Cocoa is themed after “Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas” and is beautifully crafted with dark chocolate hot cocoa and swirled with cherry flavored whipped cream on top, this beverage is non-alcoholic so even the littlest hot cocoa lovers can indulge. The next is a fantastic mixed drink of Crown Royal Whiskey, and juices of orange, cranberry, and grapefruits then topped with a few cranberries. This spiked holiday beverage is called Naughty or Nice.
Next stop, Epic Eats, located by Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is serving up the perfect combo of savory goodness with a hint of fun! Two funnel cakes menu items topped with an amazing combination of savory foods will have you not wanting to share. A Spicy Korean Chicken Funnel Cake and Brisket Reuben Funnel Cake will be a tough choice to make between the two. There is also the sweet option of a S’mores Funnel Cake, which will feature a giant roasted marshmallow, drizzled with a chocolate and marshmallow sauce, then some tiny chocolate shaved curls and cinnamon cereal pieces. The perfect twist on such a sweet treat.
Are you ready for the perfect combination of a holiday meal with a twist? At Fairfax Fare, guests will find delightful holiday favorites such as turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, and more, but with a fun twist! The Holiday Turkey Popover has the main course covered with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry chutney served on top of a housemade popover. What a beautiful dish! Not looking for the full meal and maybe just some sides? Disney has that covered too with a ‘Just The Sides’ Popover. My favorite side dishes come together for this bite. Mac & Cheese, ham and collard greens, and little cornbread pieces make the perfect plate here. Ready for a sweet and salty mix in your day? The PB&J Doughnut could be just what you’re looking for! This sandwich is just that, peanut butter, grape jelly, and some dark chocolate sandwiched between glazed doughnut halves. But it gets better! Sprinkled on top you will find house-made, and crushed, salt and vinegar chips. For beverages, Fairfax Fare offers a cute one! Kermit’s Frozen Banana Bliss is the perfect chilling treat for everyone. For the adults there will be a Mistletoe Martini.
A known friend inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios has received their very own treat this year! If you have visited the park before, you have seen the adorable giant that towers over Echo Lake. Gertie the Dinosaur has her very own cookie, Christmas Gertie’s Cookie, being served at Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction that can also be served with mint soft serve ice cream!
Continuing on with the sweet treats, The Trolly Car Cafe will feature an adorable ornament style dessert of dark chocolate-cherry mousse, called Ornament Mousse. While various Outdoor Vending Locations will be offering Gingerbread Bites, which is also plant based! How exciting!
If you’ve been to Disney’s Magic Kingdom and ask around what everyone’s favorite snack is, you will definitely hear that Spring Rolls are very popular. They will also be served at this special event, but in a different way! Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls are making their way to the Market inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Also found at Market will be Frozone’s Snowball Macaroons. These tasty little treats are coconut macaroons and drizzled with a blue, vanilla flavored, frosting and topped with snowflake candies.
