Jollywood Bites: A Magical Foodie Adventure

The recent announcement of the Disney Jollywood Night events can only mean one thing:  the Foodie Guide is right around the corner. But it is now official, we have the Foodie Guide from Disney Destinations and some of the Jollywood bites look fabulous! I think my favorite may just be the themed treats! This holiday special ticketed event is held on select nights throughout November and December.

Jollywood Bites

One of the first stops for food and beverage stops for many guests is The Trolly Car Cafe. Why you may ask? Coffee tastes better in Disney, that’s why. Guests during the event may also need a second caffeine helping in their day to make it through the late night of fun. While there, be sure to purchase an adorable Agent P Croissant! This waffle croissant is dipped in chocolate and topped with a mint cream, then finished off with a few holiday themed M&M’s and a chocolate hat that resembles Agent P.

A location just down the street from The Trolly Car Cafe has a few savory and sweet options for food and beverages. Up first is the Holiday Turkey Popover. A house-made popover is stuffed with mashed potatoes and turkey, then topped with gravy and a cranberry chutney. Another popover is filled with Just the Sides. Yes, a side dish themed house-made popover. Filled with macaroni and cheese plus collard greens it is topped with a cornbread crumble. The sweeter side of the menu is not all super sweet. A PB&J Doughnut is a doughnut split in half, filled with a creamy peanut butter and swirls of grape jelly, but half of the top doughnut layer is dipped in dark chocolate. It is also served with salt and vinegar chips. The real sweet item is the Kermit’s Frozen Banana Shake which is crafted with frozen bananas, white chocolate, caramel swirls around the cup, and topped with a matcha whipped cream.

As we still wander our way down Sunset Boulevard, and to The Tip Top Club at the Hollywood Tower Hotel, there are beverages for those ages 21+ and two that are non-alcoholic options. The one looks eerily similar to something that reminds me of the twilight zone with the color and shimmer.

One restaurant that reservations are highly recommended for, is The Hollywood Brown Derby which is offering quite a few new options for this year's event. Items like Chorizo Arancini Hamachi Crudo, and a Jazzy Holiday Slider. The sliders are made of bison and pork on a brioche bun. They are then topped with an onion jam and dulce gorgonzola. There is also Sticky Chicken Wings that are served with a sweet-and-spicy soy. The Hollywood Brown Derby also has the most adorable beverages on the menu. A Holiday Mickey Hot Cocoa is new for this year and is crafted of house-made hot cocoa and a swirl of whipped cream, it is then topped with two adorable caramel chocolate brownies made to resemble Mickey ears.

Epic Eats, another amazing location, will offer two different varieties of funnel cakes. A sweet option of S’mores. The funnel cake features a giant roasted marshmallow that is topped with chocolate sauce and shaved chocolate curls. The other menu item is on the savory side. A Spicy Korean Chicken Funnel Cake is served with a mini funnel cake that is topped with the spicy Korean chicken and a pickled slaw on top.

The Dockside Diner sits right on Echo Lake, and features some great Jollywood bites to grab on the menu. The Spicy Pimento-Kimchi Dip is served with house-made wonton chips. New and also a plant based menu item is the Samosas. This item is crafted with potato, peas, and a curry chickpea. They are then topped with a herb crema and tomato-pomegranate chutney. For a great beverage option, the Sandy Claws Dark Hot Cocoa will be making an appearance which has a cherry whipped topping.

One of my favorite locations to take a midday break for lunch, and would also make the perfect spot during the event is ABC Commissary. During the special ticketed event, the menu looks amazing! The Cauliflower Tacos features chili pepper-lime dusted cauliflower on a corn tortilla that is topped with cilantro onions, and a chipotle cashew crema. Also on the menu, a now famous Birra Taco features a shredded short rib that is topped with a Montrey Jack cheese and a side of beef consomme. Also available will be Chicken Empanadas with a side of Street Corn. An amazing Taco ‘bout a Holiday Cookie! Is a brand new dessert option! The chocolate cookies are filled with a cranberry cheesecake and topped with a pistachio whipped cream. The bottom portion of the cookie is then dipped in a white chocolate. The other fabulous option is the Mexican Hot Cocoa Cheesecake. Served in an adorable mug, the bottom is a holiday chocolate cookie streusel and then topped with a whipped cinnamon-chocolate cheesecake. It is then topped with a swirl of spiced whipped topping, ground cinnamon, and a Wondermade Churro-Marshmallow. I want to go here just for the desserts this year!

The most adorable dessert can be found at Ice Cold Hydraulics. The Duffy Brownie features the flavors of Coca-Cola fudge that is stuffed in a cherry-white chocolate chip brownie and then decorated with Coca-Cola Buttercream frosting, topped with a caramel Duffy Paw (with a hidden Mickey).

Gertie, the adorable dinosaur at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has her amazing Chrismtas Gertie Cookie returning for the year! Gertis features the adorable Santa hat. Another quick grab and go treat are the Gingerbread Bites. Both of these choices are available at various locations throughout the park.
