In a word…YES!!! I would 100% recommend a Celebrity Edge Class Ship for a honeymoon!! These ships are perfect for a couple’s first vacation together as a married couple. With delicious food, yummy drinks, fun activities and plenty of chill out areas, Celebrity Edge Class Ships have something for everyone!! I sailed on the Celebrity Ascent recently and here is what I discovered about these amazing ships!!
Celebrity Edge Class Ships have a brand new stateroom called the Edge Stateroom with Infinite Verandah. This room has a window that is lowered to turn your seating area in the room into a balcony room. This allows couples to have a little extra space in the room but enjoy the fresh ocean breeze without leaving the room. The other stateroom categories are Concierge and Aqua Class rooms. Couples that want to have concierge services (a dedicated team to help with dining reservations and other reservations), welcome aboard lunch and priority embarkation, then a Concierge Class is your choice. Couples that need to continue their fitness/wellness journeys, the Aqua Class is a perfect match for them. This stateroom comes with Spa access, exclusive restaurant for Aqua Class guests only called Blu, plus fitness classes included. No matter what type of couple you are, there is a stateroom just for you!!!
If you are a foodie, these ships are for you!! The main dining rooms are split into 4 rooms that have 4 different specialty cuisines: French, Mediterranean, American/Global and Italian. As a guest, you will be assigned to one of these for the duration of your cruise. While all of the restaurants have a menu that applies to each one, there is also a specialty menu for each of these as well. As a guest, you are able to order from any of the other 3 restaurants-you just have to ask your waiter for the menu!! I highly recommend the French Onion Soup and Spinach Ravioli!! While onboard, you definitely want to try a specialty restaurant. Fine Cut Steakhouse and La Petite Chef are 2 of the specialty dining restaurants I dined in. Both are excellent and 100% worth the additional charge if you want to have a special date night onboard!!
The drinks onboard the Celebrity Ascent are so scrumptious!! A few of my favorites are the Pop Fizz (Prosecco with a strawberry, mango or watermelon popsicle), Cosmopolitan at the Martini Bar, and the Sail 75 (Gin, white tea and champagne) at Le Petite Chef. The specialty coffees at Cafe el Bacio are *chef’s kiss!! One of the most exciting perks of booking a Celebrity Cruise for your honeymoon is you are able to purchase the Classic Drink Package and Basic Wifi Package when you book your cruise. This drink package includes drinks up to $12/glass, plus sodas and specialty coffees. If you add these perks to your cruise fare in advance, you will save up to $200 on the packages vs. purchasing them on the ship!!
Celebrity Edge Class ships have many spots for couples to sit back, relax and just be with each other. One of my favorite spots is at the Rooftop Garden. This area has spacious seating as well as becoming a pickleball court during the day. With a bar here to grab a glass of champagne, a couple is able to chill here before dinner. The Sunset Bar at the aft of the ship is another romantic spot for couples who wish to have peace and quiet. This area has lots of seating plus a hot tub to relax in while only being a few steps away from the bar to get an espresso martini and watch the sunset!! The last area that I love is the Magic Carpet. It is located on the pool deck and is the perfect place to take your burger and fries from the Mast Grill (also included in your cruise fare) to have a lunch while looking over the side of the ship with 180 degrees of ocean views!!
With talented singers, dancers and bartenders, there is entertainment for everyone onboard a Celebrity Edge Class ship. Onboard the Celebrity Ascent are 2 amazing shows. One is a tribute to Las Vegas Residencies and the other is a 50’s inspired show with acrobatics and dancing! Both are excellent!! If you are a trivia buff, then you will not be disappointed on Celebrity Cruises. From General Knowledge trivia to Rock Music trivia to Harry Potter trivia, there is a trivia you will be great at!! Like video games?? Want to have an interactive experience playing games similar to Pong?? Then you need to check out Game On in the Club. This is such a fun experience to win prizes and meet new people while cruising!!
In conclusion, if you are a couple who loves cruising, delicious food and drinks, and captivating entertainment, then a Celebrity Cruise on an Edge Class ship is the perfect choice for your honeymoon!!
