‘Inside Out’ took the world by storm with its theatrical release in 2015 when the animators at Disney took us inside a character's, Riley, brain to help explore all of the emotions that children and adults can experience. The plot kicks off when Riley’s family moves to a new city where she has no friends, not part of her favorite sports team, and learns to navigate all of these emotions. On June 13, 2024, ‘Inside Out 2’ released to theaters and has again begun to win the hearts of the viewers. With new emotions introduced like Anxiety, Ennui, Envy, and Embarrassment, Riley has to learn to navigate those emotions as well. With the premier of the film, Disney Parks is adding a few new touches for guests to enjoy for a limited time only!
With the first stop at Disneyland Resort, guests can experience newly added portions of Pixar Fest! “World of Color - ONE” Presented by PANDORA Jewelry has recently added a new short to its performance called “Emotional Rollercoaster.” Go inside of Riley's head and see her core memories along with the emotions during the nighttime water spectacular.
Since the beginning of Pixar Fest, guests could meet Joy and Sadness during their meet and greet on Pixar Pier. Recently added and now greeting guests is Anger alongside Joy and Sadness.
If you’re ready to give animation a try, head over to the Animation Academy to learn to draw four of the main characters; Joy, Sadness, Anger, and Anxiety. This fun filled event is run by a member of the Disney Animation team.
I am a sucker for a good collectors item to commemorate my visit to the parks. At Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, guests will find a medallion machine that is currently offering an ‘Inside Out 2’ medallion with the front having the emotions and the back with Pixar Fest 2024. I have collected many of these medallions, and I cannot wait to add this one to my collection too!
While visiting the parks and utilizing Disney Genie+, guests will have an exclusive PhotoPass Lens they can use for a fun selfie! Put yourself on the screen inside Headquarters while Joy, Sadness, and Anger are in charge of the control center.
If you’re looking for a fun or sweet treat while in the parks, look no further than Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta inside Disney California Adventure Park. This location will have a Joyful Cheesecake and a Sadness Cheesecake. The Joyful Cheesecake contains a yellow pineapple cheesecake with a white and blue mousse on top. The Sadness Cheesecake is a cotton candy cheesecake with blue mousse and blue core memory balls.
An Anxiety Straw Clip is now available at select locations throughout the park.
Across the country at Walt Disney World, guests can also experience some fun ‘Inside Out 2’ limited-time only events. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is playing a sneak peek of the film inside Walt Disney Presents.
Also inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there is a fun photo opportunity of Headquarters and the Core Memory Band at Pixar Plaza. Be sure to purchase the Memory Maker in advance to take advantage of those savings! Your Marvelous Mouse Travels agent can add it directly to your vacation package!
If you’re interested in trying a few fun snacks, now is the time! Epic Eats inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be offering a Frazzled Float on the menu, which will be available for purchase through September 6. The float consists of “Minute Maid Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice, Sprite, vanilla soft-serve, chocolate sauce, topped with candied orange and chocolate bark” as stated by Disney Destinations. The other treat inside the park is a Feeling Kinda Blue-berry Chai Iced Latte. The blueberry chai iced latte combines flavors of clove, orange blossom, and cinnamon to make the perfect pick-me-up. The beverage can be found at Market, Neighborhood Bakery, and Catalina Eddies.
If you do not have plans to visit the parks but want to enjoy an ‘Inside Out 2’ sweet treat, head over to Disney Springs. Amorette’s Patisserie have added a the Feeling Kinda Blue-berry Chai Iced Latte to their menu along with an amazingly decorated Inside Out 2 Petit Cake. The cake consists of vanilla chiffon, with a peanut butter mousse, strawberry jam, and crushed peanut filling. The outside has decorations that contain the emotions and a few core memories.
