Hurricane Matthew Updates

Here is all of the information we have regarding operations in and around Walt Disney World resort in Florida as Hurricane Matthew approaches.

Hurricane Matthew is expected to arrive in Florida as a strong category 4 hurricane. The east coast of Florida is being evacuated and the Orlando area is under a Hurricane warning. Landfall or near landfall is expected on Thursday night. Flights in and out of Orlando after noon have been or will be cancelled. This is a strong storm and Orlando may take a direct hit.

UPDATED Thursday, Oct 6 11:55 am: Walt Disney World resort parks- Disney parks will close at 5pm today and will remain closed tomorrow. In addition to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party's cancellation for Thursday, it has also been cancelled for Friday evening. Disney Springs will also be closed.

UPDATED Thursday, Oct 6 11:24 am: Universal Orlando and City Walk-Closing at 5pm today and will remain closed until normal hours resume on Saturday, October 8. Wet and Wild will be closing at 2pm and will remain closed through Saturday. Halloween Horror Nights is cancelled Thursday and Friday.

Here are the park updates we have:
SEAWORLD-Orlando- Seaworld park, Aquatica and Discovery Cove will be closing at 2pm on Thursday, October 6 and will be closed completely on Friday. Normal park hours are expected to resume on Saturday, October 8.

UNIVERSAL Orlando and ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE- Universal parks are currently operating under normal hours. They are continuing to monitor the changing weather and forecast and this could change, but right now no plans to close early or for Friday, October 7 have been announced.

WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT- Parks are currently operating under normal hours. As with Universal parks, this could change as the storm moves in. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for Thursday night, October 6, has been cancelled. The Halloween party scheduled for Friday, October 7, is still operating as planned, but again, this could change. There are options for refunds as well as rebooking the party for another night for the cancelled party.

Fort Wilderness Campground, the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs and the Bungalows at the Polynesian Village Resort are being evacuated. Guests at these resorts are being relocated to other Disney resorts.

Blizzard Beach water park will be closed on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7. Typhoon Lagoon is open on Thursday with limited experiences available and will be closed on Friday.

The Spirit of Aloha, Mickey's Backyard BBQ and the Hoop De Doo Musical Review dinner shows have been cancelled on Thursday and Friday.

Characters in Flight at Disney Springs will remain closed through Sunday.

LEGOLAND- Legoland in Florida is currently operating under normal conditions but as with other parks, this may change. The park will be closed on Friday.
