As the days of October are dwindling down, we can officially begin the countdown toward the holiday magic coming to Walt Disney World. The gorgeous trees will make their appearance, the pumpkins will be traded for wreaths, and the fall colors will be exchanged for the twinkling lights and frosted snowy windows. But there is some new excitement coming for two of the four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks beginning on November 12, 2024.
In previous years, Santa Claus has welcomed guests from afar inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Guests could spot him cruising around the waterways during those special holiday cavalcades. New for this year, guests will now also be able to meet Santa inside the park! On the patio of Restaurantosaurus, Santa Claus can be found during the celebration of the 75th Annual Dino Institute Holiday Party. He will be welcoming guests beginning November 12 and continue through December 24, 2024.
Another fun seasonal meet and greet is the adorable Merry Menagerie puppets. The winter themed animal puppets can be found at Discover Island. Year round residents, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, will be swapping out their safari themed outfits for some festive attire to begin greeting guests at Adventurers Outpost.
While the holiday merchandise, food, and characters are sure to be a hit, the Tree of Life Awakenings will be a special seasonal projection with winter animals that is a must see during your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Hopping over to the second theme park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there are three new entertainment options being added to the lineup for the 2024 holiday season. Let’s see what the park has in store for the guests!
Up first is the new comedy performance of Juggling Elves will premier! Their show will consist of juggling and comedy, plus so much more! Up next is the brass group, Holiday Spirit Band, which will be performing holiday tunes. The final new entertainment addition is Seasons Jukebox. This is like a marching band that also consists of fabulous dancers!
Disney Destinations also states the holiday overlay of For The First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration will be returning. It also includes the snow falling on Sunset Boulevard after the sun sets, plus the projection show, Sunset Seasons Greetings, which is projected onto The Hollywood Tower Hotel.
