Did you know that Walt Disney World offers more than just four amazing theme parks and a fabulous shopping and dining district? A not so little secret of Walt Disney World is the two spectacular water parks, where admission can be added to your vacation package. These water parks are named Disney’s Bilzzard’s Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Each year after peak season, one of the parks closes for refurbishments while the other continues to welcome guests. This year, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has closed leaving Disney’s Blizzard Beach open to experience the snow covered tropical destination.
During the holiday season there are a few exciting changes and lots of holiday fun at Disney’s Blizzard Beach. The man of the season, Santa Claus, will be greeting guests from when the park opens until 12:30 pm each day at Sonny’s Sleds. He will be dressed for the tropics, which makes for a great holiday photo!
Another great experience inside the park is the seasonal treats! A must try for me is the Peppermint Milkshake that is being offered at Lottawatta Lodge. When taking a break from fun in the sun, guests can purchase a Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Kit! For $10.99 you will receive two cookies, icing, and holiday sprinkles. Cookie kit can also be purchased at Lottawatta Lodge.
While enjoying time in the parks, guests will find the little details of holiday decorations and even fun tubes in the lazy river! Mixed in with the everyday Blizzard Beach tubes will be holiday themed tubes decorated in reds, greens, and bows! Did you know that the lazy river is also heated? Guests can enjoy the water activities year round!
Another special activity that is being offered is a holiday themed scavenger hunt! With two different map offerings, one through Tike’s Peak and the other through Ski Patrol Training Camp. This allows guests of all ages to search high and low for special items and collect their prize at Lost Children Hut. The maps are only available Friday through Sunday up until December 21, 2023. From December 22nd to December 24th, the maps will be available each day.
