If you have been able to visit both Disneyland and Walt Disney World you may notice one big difference between the two parks. Disney’s Haunted Mansion attractions are both similar and very different at the same time. The outsides are different, the queues are different, but generally the attractions are the same. However, those are not the “things” that I am referring to as the main difference in the attractions. One thing that Disneyland Park has had for quite a while that Walt Disney World Disney’s Magic Kingdom has not is the Hatbox Ghost. He is known from the films as a ghost that carries his head around in a hatbox and has the ability to swap over to his body in an instant.

Originally, Disneyland received a Hatbox Ghost in the attraction in 1969. While the character did not last long in the attraction, he did make a reappearance in 2015 with all original technical issues resolved. Hatbox Ghost has never made an appearance at Disney’s Magic Kingdom attraction until just recently! His arrival was announced at Destination D23 in September, and he has officially made his way into Disney’s Haunted Mansion at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park.
Disney Destinations states that Disney Imagineers have been “enhancing lighting and updating paint throughout the queue and the attraction.”

Guests enjoying the attraction will find the Hatbox Ghost located next to the Endless Hallway where you spot the floating candelabra.
Have you had a chance to see the Hatbox Ghost inside Disneyland Park? Even though he has just arrived at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, have you seen him yet?
