Did you know that Jack Skellington has been working hard on adding some creepy decor to the Haunted Mansion? All of his decorations are inspired by Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Inside the attraction, you can see Sally, Oogie Boogie, and some other frightening characters from the film. “Life’s no fun without a good scare,” or a visit to the Haunted Mansion (booked with a Marvelous Mouse Travel Advisor, of course). Fun Fact - In the Haunted Mansion's ballroom scene, a large gingerbread mansion is constructed each year with a new theme. This year's theme is centralized around a ghost named “Von Ginger.”
At Disney California Adventure Park, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT excites visitors all year long with its jaw-dropping drops and hilarious plot. Every night, the scene changes to Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark. Visitors to this risk-taking journey are in for a stunning treat as rogue creatures and Rocket's plot to save Groot add mayhem to the fast-paced action.
Some other great attractions to visit with unique Halloween Overlays are Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween at Radiator Screams. Even some of your favorite Cars characters may be dressed for the holidays!
Not only do the attractions get a holiday makeover, but so do the characters! You can find Mickey and friends dressed up in Halloween costumes as well. Linger around Main Street USA to find them to take pictures with.
All of the Halloween fun isn’t only in the parks, Downtown Disney is full of that holiday magic. One of my favorite things to do over here is to watch the SCAREolers Materialize in this area. They sing hit tunes from “I Put A Spell On You” to “Monster Mash” and many great other selections. You can find them right in front of the Downtown Disney Stage not too far from the security entrance near Disneyland Hotel.
Every year, Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party, an incredible special ticketed event, sells out at Disneyland during the Halloween season. You can anticipate special guests, unique treats, the cutest merchandise, and spectacular shows while visiting the event. Guests are invited to trick-or-treat throughout the park and might encounter Oogie Boogie himself. Make sure to get a good spot for the Frightfully Fun Parade at this event. With a glowing jack-o-lantern in his hand, the frightening Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow announces the conclusion of the pre-parade, and a fascinating parade begins. Beware of Hitchhiking Ghosts! They will come to life along with dancers and gravediggers down the parade route. But wait… there's more. Your storybook villains come out to play in this adventure. Ursula, Jafar, Cruella, Maleficent, and many more are eager to cause havoc on this thrilling night. The Cheshire Cat, who is perpetually inquisitive and amusing, brings up the tail end of this Frightfully Fun Parade.
End your night at Sleeping Beauty’s castle while watching Jack Skellington as he welcomes Halloweentown's frightful thrills in this amazing projection show (and fireworks on select nights). You can see characters from Disney Villains such as Maleficent and Ursula the Sea Witch while listening to some of the greatest Halloween hits.
