Halloween has always been one of my favorite times of the year, and there is no better place to celebrate than at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. This special-ticketed event transforms the park into a festive Halloween wonderland, filled with unique experiences, entertainment, and delicious seasonal treats.

One of the highlights of the party is the special ride overlay on Space Mountain, where the lights are turned off completely, making for a thrilling and unforgettable experience. Guests can also enjoy exclusive character meet and greets, where beloved Disney characters appear in their Halloween costumes, creating fun and memorable photo opportunities. Throughout the park, special treats are available for purchase, such as Minnie’s Witch Hat cake, adding a sweet touch to the night. The Halloween-themed fireworks show over Cinderella Castle is another standout, offering a beautiful and spooky display that lights up the night sky. Trick-or-treating stations are set up throughout the park, and guests of all ages are encouraged to participate. And of course, no Halloween party at Disney is complete without the Boo-to-You Parade, which remains my personal favorite part of the event year after year.

Another element that makes this party so special is the costumes. When my family first began attending, each of us dressed individually, choosing our own Halloween looks. But over time, we decided to take it up a notch with group costumes, and it has become one of our favorite traditions. Last weekend, we went as Monsters, Inc. characters, and one of the most memorable moments of the night was visiting the Laugh Floor. Let’s just say the cast members noticed us, and we had a lot of fun being part of the show.

In previous years, we’ve done Toy Story, which was my husband’s favorite—our youngest dressed as one of the aliens, and it was a huge hit with other guests. Star Wars has also been a go-to for us over multiple Halloween parties, which isn’t surprising since we have some dedicated fans in the family. Other Marvelous Mouse Travels agents have embraced group costumes as well, with Winnie the Pooh and friends being one of the most popular themes among travel planners and their clients.

This is a special event that sells out quickly each year, often months in advance. If you’re considering attending in the future, now is the time to plan ahead. Booking your Disney resort for fall 2026 early ensures that you can be added to the early booking list for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets when they are released. This event combines the best of Disney magic with the festive fun of Halloween, creating memories that last a lifetime.

When you go, I highly encourage you to embrace the spirit of the event. Whether you choose to wear individual costumes or coordinate a group theme, make it memorable. Halloween at Disney is a once-a-year experience that truly shines when you go all in.
