We recently returned from a stay in Disney’s Grand Floridian's new Resort Studio rooms. Take a look at accommodations!
We stayed in a standard view resort studio room located in the Big Pine Key building. Our sleeping arrangements included two queen beds and one twin-sized pull down sofa, which sleeps up to five. Our room included a desk/vanity area, couch, television, full size bathroom with double vanity, closet space, and a mini-kitchenette space.
I really loved the way the closet space in this room arrangement has shifted to beside the beds, versus having them right by the door. Now that the closets are moved, there’s room for a large desk/vanity area. I used this space to store our snacks and do my hair and makeup. Plenty of room to make it what you need it to be!
It’s important to note that the mini-kitchenette is not a full kitchenette setup. There is no separate sink area here, but there is a microwave and a mini beverage cooler.
The new rooms are absolutely breathtaking. Themed after Mary Poppins, you’ll find a color pallet of blush pinks, baby blues, and golds mixed with touches from the movie. The room is very elegant and fresh.
Additionally, the Big Pine Key building also got a fresh makeover. The atrium lobby located in this building had new furnishings, new wallpaper, and even a setup for a little scavenger hunt for the kids. The location of this building is wonderful as well. On one side you have the main pool and splashpad, and on the other side you have the quiet pool.
In this room, you’ll find Mary Poppins odes in every direction. From the infamous Cherry Tree Lane paintings above the sofa to the damask Mary Poppins wallpaper in the kitchenette area, there are Disney touches everywhere. Don’t forget to look up high too! You may just find the sweetest little penguin hiding among the birds in the chandelier.
Grand Floridian's new Resort Studio rooms have gotten a little flack for not having a full kitchenette. However, I loved the new room arrangement, pastel colors, and Mary Poppins touches. To me, it’s practically perfect in every way and I cannot wait to stay there again!
