Get ready to be swept off your feet because Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has just unveiled its 2023 Gingerbread House! This delightful confectionary masterpiece is back for its 24th year, gracing us with its sugary presence from November 8 to January 1, 2024.
Imagine walking into the lobby and being hit with the irresistible smell of ginger, cinnamon, and all things nice. This year's Gingerbread House is a jaw-dropping sight, adorned with white chocolate candy canes, edible snowflakes, and sugar poinsettias. And get this – it’s all made up of over 10,000 pieces of gingerbread...not to mention the incredible 85 lb. chocolate Santa, along with hand-painted details, all adding a touch of magic.
Now, here's the scoop on the ingredients that went into this sugary wonderland: 1050 pounds of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 700 pounds of chocolate, 800 pounds of flour, and 35 pounds of spices. That’s a whole lot of sweetness packed into one house.
The Gingerbread House isn’t just there to be admired from afar. You can get a close-up view daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and trust us, you'll want to. The entire place is decked out in cheerful red and white, with plenty of poinsettias adding to the festive vibes. Oh, and those panels above the window shutters? They're adorned with painted scenes of our favorite Disney characters enjoying a winter wonderland. And guess what? Santa himself has his very own special spot!
