
While visiting Disney World parks, guests have learned to navigate their ways around with the app My Disney Experience. It does a phenomenal job at providing wait times, showing you what’s around, show times, and mobile ordering food. It has always been a great resource of technology that was introduced into the parks in 2014, and has grown and developed since then.
As of recently, it has also provided guests with the ability to reserve a return time for attractions using the Lightning Lane, see when the best time to head to a ride could be, and even a helpful tip board! It is also the way to join the virtual queue for the attractions that are using it, and purchasing Individual Lightning Lanes for the most popular select rides.

There has been a new update to the Genie and Genie+ at Disney World. Before, you had to purchase the Disney Genie+, in which you still do, but there may be a way to cut some costs now. Beginning on June 27, 2023, guests will be able to “purchase Disney Genie+ service based on how they want their visit” as said by Disney Destinations. So far this means that if you have base tickets, you will only have to purchase the Disney Genie+ for the park you are visiting that day. This will be a more cost effective way to help plan for your days in the parks as you are not paying to use the service in multiple parks.
Disney Destinations shares that there will be more news coming, but right now they are still taking feedback from park guests on how they would like to see the services improved. This includes the ability to plan their park day before they arrive at the parks. This will be fantastic for our guests who love to have their vacations planned out in advance!
