Foodie Guide from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Calling all Harry Potter fans! We have an official Foodie Guide from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter inside Universal Studios Hollywood. Items from the books and films are featured here on the menu at Three Broomsticks and Hogs Head, which is a pub. Let’s find out what the menus consist of.

The first item up, the famously delicious Butterbeer! The beverage can be found throughout Hogsmeade in carts, Three Broomsticks, and Hogs Head in three forms. A frozen Butterbeer is similar to a slushie, and the cold is similar to a soda, but both served with a creamy-type froth on top. The third version, hot, is a very sweet version. The flavor is butterscotch, with a hint of other flavors. There is also a souvenir stein that can be purchased, which is cute!

While Butterbeer is the most popular drink of fans, did you know there are more than five other beverage options available in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? Up first, Fishy Green Ale. While the name is not appetizing, the drink does sound great! The flavor of mint and cinnamon are the base with “fish eggs” that are actually a blueberry type boba pearl. The Fishy Green Ale can be found inside Three Broomsticks. Would you try this?

The next two are the same beverage, just in different forms. The Pumpkin Juice and the Pumpkin fizz are flavors of pumpkin and cinnamon, very similar to pumpkin pie. The Pumpkin Juice can be found at Three Broomsticks on tap or at some of the carts inside Hogsmeade. Pumpkin is the same base, but with added carbonation. Discover Universal’s Blog states that this version is a bit less sweet than the Pumpkin Juice.

The final two non-alcoholic options are Apple Cider and Pear Cider. The blog states that they are fruity, but on the less sweet side.

There are a wide variety of House-Made Ales at Three Broomsticks and Hogs Head. Some of the popular ones are Hog’s Head Ale, Dragon Scale, Wizard’s Brew, and Honey Mead.

Getting into the meat and potatoes of it all, the entrees that are offered inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Three Broomsticks at Universal Studios Hollywood offers meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast offerings are a Traditional English Breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, baked tomato, sausage, baked beans, ham, potatoes, a croissant, and even some black pudding.

There is also a Continental Breakfast option for those that only prefer something light. It comes with a croissant, scone, jelly, and some fresh fruit. The American Breakfast platter is similar to the Traditional English Breakfast, it just has less items. It does include the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and croissant with butter. The final breakfast offering is a Pancake Breakfast which offers three pancakes, bacon and sausage.

Three Broomsticks does not offer breakfast everyday, so be sure to check the app for times.

Lunch and Dinner are just as delicious as breakfast. My personal favorite, Fish and Chips, is cooked to perfection. The crispy outside and flaky cod inside gives the perfect bite every time. If you’re looking for something less fried and more healthy, the Roast Chicken Salad would be perfect! Pieces of roasted chicken are nestled on top of a bed of greens, makes a great refreshing meal.

A fabulous vegetarian option of Asparagus Vegetable Platter takes its place on the menu with roasted tomatoes, mashed potatoes, along with sauteed onions, cabbage, mint peas, and a gravy. This may sound vaguely familiar as it is the same setting as Bangers and Mash, which is also on the menu. Instead of the asparagus, you will have sausage on the mound of mashed potatoes.

The next menu item is Shepherd’s Pie. This dish is a layer of minced beef with vegetables, then covered with a layer of mashed potatoes. Three Broomsticks also offers a vegan version of Shepherd's Pie that has a plant-based veggie loaf instead of the traditional beef.

If you’re traveling in a group and want to try a few options, The Great Feast is the perfect option! Start with either spare ribs or roast chicken (or you can combine the two!), with sides of roasted corn, fresh vegetables, roasted potatoes, and can even add on a side-salad. This large tray is more than enough to share with three or so guests. If it's just you, and you still want those amazing options, you can order a Spare Ribs or Roast Chicken Platter. The scaled down version does come with roasted potatoes and corn on the cob!

After all of that, did you leave room for dessert? Three Broomsticks has a wonderful menu of dessert options. The Sticky Toffee Pudding is a mouthwatering choice. It is freshly baked, which means it is served warm, and has a scoop of vanilla ice cream placed on top. It has toffee, butterscotch, and nuts inside giving it the perfect gooey and crunchy consistency. Another great warmer dessert option is the Apple Pie which is large enough to share! Could be a great way to end The Great Feast!

We chatted about the cold, frozen, and hot version of the Butterbeer, but did you know that Three Broomsticks offers two more varieties? There is a Butterbeer Ice Cream and a Butterbeer Potted Cream on the menu for dessert. The Butterbeer Ice Cream is my favorite! Other flavors of ice cream at Three Broomsticks are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and peanut butter.

With one last option, this is for the chocolate lovers! The Chocolate Trifle is layers of chocolate mousse, chocolate cake, and strawberries.

If you have not had the opportunity to visit Universal Studios Hollywood, I highly recommend it! The atmosphere is amazing, and the entire park transports you to the movie sets! Reach out to Marvelous Mouse Travels today for your next Universal adventure!
