During my recent trip to Universal Orlando, we naturally had to make a stop at one of our favorite spots...Finnegan's Bar and Grill. This amazing pub is located in Universal Studios and has been here since the park opened. Finnegan's is inspired by the 1978 film "The Brinks Job" based on the Brink's robbery of 1950, and is the restaurant where they planned the heist. I often feel like it's a hidden gem, so I love to share with others our tried and true favorites from this cozy restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you are in the UK in a true Irish Pub, not Florida. Cozy up to the bar and chat with the friendly bartenders, or get a table to enjoy your meal!
Your meal will start with one of my favorite foods in Universal, the bread and apple butter! Personally, apple butter was something I ate growing up, so this start to the meal gives me all the nostalgic vibes. The Irish Soda Bread pairs perfectly with the sweet apple butter and will have you wishing you didn't have to share.
A true fan favorite here is the Fish and Chips, and for good reason! The fish is cooked perfectly and is so light and fluffy. We have to get this every singe time we come, no matter what else we get. Be sure to try it on your next visit!
We recently tried the Scotch Eggs - hard-boiled eggs wrapped in pork sausage, dusted with bread crumbs and fried, served with apple beet salad and mustard sauce for dipping. It's definitely a more unique dish, but it's so fun to try things we don't typically eat here in America. We loved this option and highly recommend trying it.
There are so many great dishes here, you really can't go wrong. From the Guinness Warm 3 Cheese Dip to the Guinness Beef Stew, you are sure to find many new favorites that will have you returning time and time again.
Marvelous Mouse Travels also has a signature drink on the menu! Be sure to ask for the Marvelous Mule on your next trip. This refreshing drink is made with Deep Eddy's lemon vodka, goslings ginger beer, and lime juice. It is one of my favorite drinks in the parks and is great on a hot day! Some other great drink options are Apple Pie on the Rocks - vodka drink that tastes like an apple pie in a glass, Guinness, and Green beer! Stop by on St. Patrick's Day and enjoy a mug of this special treat.
