If you are planning on heading to Walt Disney World soon and fall into one or more of these categories:
- You want to travel to WDW on a budget
- You love Disney movies
- You are only in your room to shower and sleep
- You want to stay on property for the perks
then check out Disney's All Star Movies Resort! All Star Movies is one of five resorts in the Value Category at Walt Disney World, and one of three in the All Star family, with the other two being All Star Sports and All Star Music (which at the time of this blog are not open). The layout of the All Star Resorts are the same, but the theming is what makes them each unique! We chose to stay at the All Star Movies Resort on our Summer 2021 WDW vacation to get the chance to explore this resort! We spend very little time in our rooms, so All Star Movies is a great choice for my family.
About the Resort
Rooms
Disney's All Star Movies Resort has both Standard and Preferred Rooms. Preferred Rooms are rooms that are located closer to the resort's dining area, transportation hub, and shopping area. At the end of the day, it's nice to keep the steps to a minimum as you walk off the bus and head to your room to put your feet up or grab a nice shower! Preferred Rooms do run slightly higher price-wise as a Standard Room. Both room types have either a King Bed, or a Queen Bed and a Queen-Sized Table Bed, depending on your party size. The table beds are super easy to pull down and put back up as needed! My family pulls the bed down at the beginning of our stay and leaves it down the entire time. We stayed in a Standard Room (no more strollers and the kids are older) and enjoyed our room. The beds are comfortable!
Themed Sections
The resort has 5 different themed areas, all with larger than life statues from popular Disney movies! These areas are: 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, The Mighty Ducks, Herbie The Love Bug, and my favorite, Toy Story! The statues located throughout the resort are great for photo opportunities for both kids and adults! We were placed into the Mighty Ducks area. It was fun walking through the mask every morning! Walking through the 101 Dalmatians section was fun, and made the walk to the room go by fast.

Pools
All Star Movies has 2 pools on its property. One is located in the main center of the resort, the Fantasia section. At the Fantasia pool you can find Sorcerer Mickey. Kids will love the water that shoots out from Mickey's base that he stands on. The resort has a pool located in The Mighty Ducks section of the resort, which is conveniently called, Duck Pond Pool. Both pools were clean and had plenty of towels to go around! We don't take a midday break anymore, but being on property gives you that option! Hop on the Disney Transportation bus and head back to the resort for a midday dip in the pool (or even a little nap). The water was warm enough to enjoy a nice swim, but not too warm that it didn't cool you off.
Dining
All Star Movies Resort has their World Premiere Food Court, where you'll find plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, drinks, and snacks! We love starting our day with Mickey waffles! All Star Movies is participating in the Mobile Dining option, which we really enjoyed! We could decide what we wanted to eat before leaving the room and have it ready for us when we got to the dining hall, or after our day at the parks we could order and have our food ready when we hopped off the bus. I am hoping this way of ordering at WDW stays as an option!

Location & Getting Around
All Star Movies Resort, an on-property resort, is considered to be in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area of the Walt Disney World Resort. It is located closest to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and Blizzard Beach Water Park, with Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon Lagoon, and Disney Springs a little bit further of a ride. Getting from the resort to the parks (both theme and water), ESPN Sports Complex and Disney Springs is easy with Disney's Transportation, which is included in your stay! Special Disney Transportation buses will pick you up at the designated bus stop at the resort and bring you to your desired Disney location (buses do not transport between other resorts).

Perks of Staying at the All Star Movies Resort
If you are flying into the Orlando International Airport (MCO), you will have the Magical Express included in your stay until the end of 2021 when Walt Disney World is discontinuing the Magical Express. At the resort there are plenty of Disney Transportation buses to get you from the resort to all the theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports, and Disney Springs. Our wait time for the buses was minimal compared to years prior! It was great! Staying at a Value Resort allows you to save money that you can use for food or souvenirs if budgeting for a vacation is a top priority. Staying on property is a priority for my family. It's less stressful for transportation, it keeps my family occupied, and we are always happy to get the full Disney experience.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at All Star Movies. It was family friendly, easy to get around, budget friendly, and helped to immerse my family in everything Disney!
I would be happy to help your family with their next Walt Disney World vacation! Whether you are looking at staying on property with a tight budget, or you want to splurge a little and go for a moderate or deluxe resort, I can help you! I work directly with Disney, so you will never pay more than what's listed on their website! Oftentimes, I can save you money, as I watch for any promotions that are released that will save you money and automatically apply them!
