By: Jenna Konkel, a Marvelous Mouse Travels agent
Recently, Marvelous Mouse Travels was given the opportunity to tour Carnival Cruise Line’s ship: Mardi Gras. This ship is grand and unique in so many ways including its six different zones you can explore onboard. The six zones are Grand Central, French Quarter, Summer Landing, La Piazza, Lido and the Ultimate Playground.
Entering the ship you will immediately know you are in Grand Central when you see the three story lobby atrium as well as floor to ceiling windows. The atrium area also features a stage where you will find various entertainment throughout your cruise. Grand Central gives relaxing yet exciting vibes that make you want to chill with a coffee from JavaBlue Café or a beverage from Grand View bar.

Let the good times roll in The French Quarter zone! This area will transport you straight to New Orleans with its incredible theming of the various bars and eateries. Check out Emeril’s Bistro 1396 for a Po Boy and authentic Café Du Monde beignets! A collective favorite spot of your Marvelous Mouse Travel’s agents was at The Brass Magnolia bar. Grab a drink, kick up your feet and take in the live jazz music in this chic bar.

Looking for some backyard style relaxation? Head to Summer Landing. This zone features a quiet pool and whirlpool. Grab a drink at the Watering Hole poolside bar while you are at it for the ultimate chill.

What goes better with a backyard style chill than BBQ? Maybe only the soft serve locations you will find on Deck 8! Grab delicious BBQ and beers from Guy’s Pig and Anchor Smokehouse and Brewhouse.
Pro Tip: Visit the smokehouse during lunch to try all of your BBQ favorites for free! Dinner at this location is not included in your cruise fare.

La Piazza zone focuses on Italian flavors and a fun atmosphere. Visit Bar della Rossa for your favorite espresso drinks by day and Italian cocktails by night. Best pizza onboard can be found at Pizzeria del Capitano. Cucina del Capitano is one of my favorite dining locations on the ship due to its outdoor and family style dining experience.
Pro Tip: This location is free for your first visit and only costs $8/person for additional visits.

”Pro Tips”, like the ones shared above, are added value a Marvelous Mouse Travels agent will add to your trip. When you work with an agent from MMT, your agent will help you select the best ship and stateroom for your desired cruise experience. In addition, your travel agent will combine first hand experience and professional trainings to help you prepare for your trip. One of the best parts of work with an MMT agent is that you will pay the same or lower price as booking directly with Carnival Cruise Line. It does not cost you anything extra to work with an MMT agent and they will provide added value (like the above “Pro Tips"), will help answer your questions in anticipation of your trip and will provide in-travel support if anything goes wrong. These are just some of the benefits of working with Marvelous Mouse Travels.
Lets continue on our journey through the zones of the Carnival Mardi Gras cruise ship.
It's party time in the Lido zone! Featuring entertainment, pools, dining and bars, and another soft serve you can spend all day and night in this zone! Street Eats, Guy’s Burgers, Big Chicken, Seafood Shack, BlueIguana Cantina and RedFrog TikiBar can all be found in the Lido zone.

Ultimate Playground is a family’s dream zone! Looking for adventure? Check out the first ever rollercoaster at sea: BOLT. Riding BOLT does come at an additional cost. This zone continues with family fun for kids and adults alike. The waterpark area called “Carnival WaterWorks” features waterslides, a dump bucket and more water fun for the whole family. “SportSquare” includes dry fun like mini-golfing, basketball courts and a ropes course which is included in your cruise fare!
This quick description of these six zones on the Carnival Mardi Gras only scratches the surface of the fun you will have onboard this cruise ship. Reach out to your Marvelous Mouse Travels agent today to discuss stateroom options and pricing for your next cruise onboard Carnival’s Mardi Gras ship!
