After the recent Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting of Shareholders, there have been a few truly amazing updates! This news is not only for Disneyland in Anaheim, California, but across the world at a few other Disney properties. Let’s check out what some of these updates hold for the future at the Disney Parks!
Up first is the Disneyland Resort in California. There has been an announcement of an expansion of the park to possibly include a new Avatar experience! There currently is a Pandora themed land at Walt Disney Worlds’ Animal Kingdom park called Pandora - The World of Avatara. There are two attractions, Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. The inspirational artwork for the new possible land at Disneyland slightly resembles the area in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but there are quite a few differences. This could mean different attractions and experiences for the Disneyland destination.

We are still looking forward to the reimagining of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Splash Mountain. The new attraction taking over the space, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, is set to open later this year at both destinations.
Next is the unveiling of Fantasy Springs located inside Tokyo DisneySea, which is set to open in June 2024. Fantasy Springs will contain three lands designed after three Walt Disney Animation Studios films. “Frozen,” “Tangled,” and finally “Peter Pan” will be represented here plus the brand new Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel. There will be attractions and dining in each area along with special merchandise available for purchase.
