Walt Disney World is known for it’s epic holiday celebrations and leading the way is the Christmas season with all the wonderful events and festivities! Epcot is gearing up for it’s International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth, happening during The World’s Most Magical Celebration! Not only are we celebrating 50 years of magic but now it’s time to sprinkle in the Christmas spirit.
When entering the World Showcase guests always have to make a split decision: do we head to Canada or Mexico first! While during the International Festival of the Holidays guests can start in the middle with “JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season” on the Showcase Plaza Stage. This uplifting show celebrates Christmas and Kwanzaa and really gets every in the mood!
Heading around the World Showcase you’ll be able to experience holiday storytellers, musical acts, and other performers that can range from the Canadian Holiday Voyageurs and their musical memories across the Great White North to the Chinese Lion Dance, Italy’s La Befana, France’s Père Noël and that’s just the beginning! But best of all Santa Claus makes an appearance at the American Adventure from November 26-December 24th before he has to head out to deliver presents around the world!
And alas the most captivating retelling of the Christmas story takes place at the American Gardens theatre. This performance is called the Candlelight Processional. Celebrity narrators read the Christmas story and are accompanied by a choir of cast members singing beautiful renditions of our favorite Christmas carols.
The lineup of narrators for 2021 includes award-winning actors, singers, and television hosts and two Disney princesses!
This show is a wonderfully magical experience for the whole family! The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays starts November 26th and continues through December 30th.
