Universal Halloween Horror Nights is all about the freights! However, the houses are not the only terrifying areas at the after-hours, separate ticket event. Getting through the park is probably just as terrifying as the houses with the Scare Zones. These are areas set up throughout the park that are themed that feature scare actors. Strolling the streets, jumping from hidden spots, and maybe hiding within the fog. Never go alone.
We now have four scare zones for Universal Halloween Horror Nights Universal Orlando, each with their own horrifying theme.
Up first, The Origins of Horror. Universal describes this scare zone as “enter a decaying conservatory of twisted vines where artists carve tributes to Halloween Horror Nights 34. You’ll encounter monstrous crows, gargoyles, and more.” This could bring so many things to the scare zone. I’m thinking the gargoyles are going to be perched on the platform while the crows are wandering with red eyes.
The second announced scare zone is Masquerade: Dance with Death. This area is described as a gather of vampires in disguise at a masquerade ball. When their masks come off, the prey are chosen and there is no escaping.
Next is The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane. The path leading to her house to windy and dark. Once the trick or treaters reach the end, instead of a treat they are turned into feral felines. This scare zone could be extra terrifying for those guests that do not enjoy the feline species.
Finally, or at least for now, is the Mutations: Toxic Twenties. Soaring back to the roaring twenties, a radioactive cargo vehicle crashes into a well-known mobster getaway vehicle which flees. The entire city goes into a toxic breakout and you may not make it out alive.
Sometimes the scare zones are the worst. You are walking around and not expecting it, and something pops out from around the corner, jumps towards you, or comes up from behind.
