As April approaches, rather quickly I might add, many park guests are preparing for the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run. However, Disney has recently announced that there will be a soft opening of the newest attraction at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
The soft opening of the attraction is just for a few days, March 20 - April 2, 2023, right before the grand opening on April 4, 2023. Guests that have valid Park Pass Reservations for Magic Kingdom on those 4 days may have the opportunity to join the virtual queue or with the purchase of the individual lightning lane for TRON Lightcycle / Run. A soft opening usually is in reference to a technical rehearsal, and will most likely not operate on a full day schedule. If you will be attending the parks during these days leading up to the grand opening, be sure to keep an eye out for the opening of the virtual queue and individual lightning lane.
There is another announcement related to TRON Lightcycle / Run that has recently been released. The new food kiosk, Energy-Bytes, has the newest tasty treats that will be available for purchase near the attraction in Tomorrowland.
Energy-Bytes will offer items for breakfast, snacks, and beverages throughout the rest of the day. For morning offerings there will be “Chocolate Cake Doughnut Holes” served with a mocha sauce, as announced by Disney Destinations. There will also be a Joeffreys cold brew coffee, with a pretty sweet mocha sauce as well.
Looking for something towards the afternoon and evening? Try the Digital Dumplings -Buffalo Chicken or Digital Dumplings - Beef & Broccoli. Each dumpling bowl is served with its own signature broth. These savory menu items are sure to be a hit!
The final thing we always seem to chat about, dessert! Energy-Bytes will be serving up a Strawberry IceOform, as Disney Destinations released the menu name of this strawberry ice cream that will be topped with a cheesecake foam. WHAT?! I cannot wait to try this!
As if the delectable dessert was not enough, there will also be a frozen drink that is called Watermelon Refresher. While I will not reveal the flavors, other than watermelon for this drink, you will have to decide for yourself what it consists of.
