I recently had the chance to visit Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana and honestly… this resort ended up being one of my favorite family-friendly resorts I toured in the Dominican Republic.
And with Secrets Macao Beach opening next door in October 2026, I truly think this entire area is about to become one of the most talked about resort destinations in Punta Cana.
This luxury beachfront area sits directly on Playa Macao, one of Punta Cana’s most beautiful beaches, known for its turquoise water, soft sand, and more natural, less crowded feel. It’s polished, modern, and feels intentionally designed — not just another mega resort.
And one of the biggest things that stood out to me? The beach.
If you’ve researched Punta Cana resorts before, you’ve probably heard people talk about sargassum seaweed. One of the reasons I would personally recommend Macao Beach is because this area is known for being one of the better beach locations in Punta Cana when it comes to avoiding heavy sargassum buildup.
