In the past few months, guests visiting Disneyland in Anaheim, California may have noticed some construction in the Downtown Disney District. While we know the AMC Theater lot will be receiving new properties, it is expected to be completed in late 2024. While there is still a ton of construction to be done in the area, we do have some new released information!

Parkside Market, the new area inside Downtown Disney, will offer “innovative food and beverage options” as described as Disney Destinations. The Parkside Market will combine four different options inside one building on the end closest to the west end of the area.
Seoul Sister crafted by Kelly Kim, Executive Chef, has crafted the menu after Korean Flavors with Korean Rice Bowls. The menu will offer the fabulous Korean flavors with marinated meats, savory sauces, and beautiful colorful vegetables that can be served over rice, noodles, or even as a salad. There will also be a breakfast menu offered along with handcrafted drinks. I am really looking forward to experiencing this new restaurant!
Another new restaurant that will be opening after the construction is completed is Sip & Sonder. While this location is new to Disneyland, it is already famous in the LA area. Sip & Sonder has been recognized as the best cafe in LA by the Los Angeles Times. Here guests will be able to experience their signature lattes, small bites that are inspired by Caribbean flavors, frozen drinks, and freshly crafted treats.
Speaking of drinks, second story bar will be part of the Downtown Disney renovation where guests can enjoy cocktails and mocktails made with the freshest ingredients and garnished with edible pieces of art. This all sounds absolutely amazing. Disney Destinations also mentions that there will be “frozen lemonades, frozés, espresso martinis, shareable cocktails, and spirit-free elixirs.”
Something I am always excited to experience is new chicken restaurants! GG’s Chicken Shop will also be gracing us with its presence. This is the expansion from the original GG’s Chicken Shop that opened earlier this year in Chicago. The restaurant was named after Michelin Star Chef Partner Lee Wolen’s mother. The menu is designed with a family friendly style with chicken sandwiches, classic sides, and salads.

The final new piece of entertainment that will be available to guests later this year is the new stage and lawn. This space will be used for special events, entertainment, and activities. Features of this new venue include a statue created by Nikkolas Smith.
While there are more renovations and improvements happening at Downtown Disney, we can look forward to the few locations that we have confirmed information on!
