Over the past few months, Disneyland Resort has undergone quite a few major renovations. First we had the new towers at Disneyland Hotel. The construction overlapped at the former Disney Paradise Pier Hotel, now known as the Disney Pixar Pier Hotel. Finally, right across the way at Downtown Disney District there has been construction going on for quite some time. There previously have been some announcements of the new merchandise and food locations that were coming to Downtown Disney District, and we now have more exciting information!
Parkside Market, is a “curated collection of four diverse culinary concepts from Levy Restaurants” as described by Disney Destinations. This new location will be home to Seoul Sister, Sip & Sonder, GG’s Chicken Shop, and the top floor serving up appetizers and cocktails. Parkside Market can be found on the west end of the new area.
While a temporary location will be available soon, a brand new two story Earl of Sandwich is in the works. At this location the lower floor will be a normal quick service type Earl of Sandwich business, while the second floor will have a gastropub. The new temporary location will soon be opening near the Star Wars Trading Post, while it is currently near Esplanade. This location is moving to make room for construction of the new Porto’s Bakery.
Two new restaurants have officially been announced for an opening later this Spring. Paseo and Centrico, offering a courtyard bar and restaurant, will be serving Mexican cuisine and delightful tequila cocktails. The second location is Tiendita, will be right next to Paseo and Centrico and will also be serving Mexican cuisine, but as a quick service option! Their menu will be inspired by Mexican street-food.
The final update that we currently have is regarding the newest entertainment space at Downtown Disney District. Downtown Disney LIVE! Will be an open grass area with a stage front and center where guests can enjoy live entertainment. Disney Destinations has noted that there will be a variety of music genres performed here. There will also be a schedule available that will include any seasonal performances as well as any specialty acts.
