At Universal Studios Hollywood, guests have recently been welcomed into the newest themed land Super Nintendo World. It transports you into the games of the past and you become the character while leveling up with the games you play. While Universal Studios Hollywood has some games and the Bowsers Challenge attraction, and Universal Orlando Resorts has not offered much information on what is to come with EPIC, Universal Studios Japan is receiving an upgrade!
Universal Studios Japan has a Super Nintendo World area that is receiving a new attraction, Donkey Kong Country. Take on an adventure of a lifetime as you ride in a mining cart from The Golden Temple through the jungle. Universal describes it as a “play experience using your whole body” but does not describe if there is an objection to the attraction or if it is just a roller coaster type attraction. Either way, it sounds like an adventure that you do not want to miss!
There has not been an official opening date for Donkey Kong Country, but it is slated to open sometime in 2024. It is also stated that there will be food and beverage options available “in the middle of the jungle” which means it could be set off in a separate section of Super Nintendo World.
Super Nintendo World opened in March 2021 at Universal Japan, after some delays from COVID-19. The next to open was inside Universal Hollywood in February 2023 in the Lower Lot of the park.
