DOLE Whip Day at Walt Disney World

A mini-holiday celebration is hitting the parks on July 18th, 2024 through July 21st, 2024 and if you are in the area you do not want to miss it! While it is not a national holiday, DOLE Whip Day is celebrated beginning on July 18th in the parks and resorts with this being the fourth annual celebration. While the DOLE Whip can be found worldwide, nothing seems as good as it is when it is in the parks. Am I right? It’s so good that there is even an official Foodie Guide from Disney Destinations! Here we will hit all of the highlights of that guide.

Inside Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, guest can locate DOLE Whips at four locations, Aloha Isle Refreshments, Sunshine Tree Terrace, Jungle Skipper Navigation Co LTD Skipper Canteen, and Storybook Treats. Aloha Isle Refreshments is the only location to have the original DOLE Whip flavor along with four other options. The DOLE Whip Float features a choice of DOLE Whip, vanilla soft serve, or swirl on top of pineapple juice. A Pineapple Upside Down Cake that also features the DOLE Whip, vanilla soft serve, or swirl is a tasty treat option. Finally, there is a DOLE Whip Raspberry Swirl that can also be served as a float.

At Sunshine Tree Terrace there are two flavors that can be purchased in a variety of ways! The DOLE Whip Orange and the DOLE Whip Strawberry grace the menu here, but only the DOLE Whip Orange is offered to be made as a swirl. A DOLE Whip Float can be made with a variety of beverage options, and there is also a I Lava You Float that features Fanta Strawberry, passion fruit flavoring, and DOLE Whip Orange that is topped with a sprinkle of popping candy!

The next stop, just around the corner is Jungle Skipper Navigation Co LTD Skipper Canteen. With only one option available, this variety will be a bit more difficult to access as the restaurant is a table service location. An Enchanted Orange Dream has been added to the menu, and is currently available for guests enjoying a dining experience here. This one seems more like a milkshake as it is a blend of the DOLE Whip Orange with vanilla soft serve and the rim of the cup is orange candy lined. Reservations and dining are subject to availability.

One last location in Disney’s Magic Kingdom is Storybook Treats. Here there are two varieties, both of which have been on the menu prior in their rotational treat options. The Rapunzel Sundae and Aurora Cone are back. The Rapunzel Sundae is served in a bowl made up of DOLE Whip Lemon and a wild-berry soft serve ice cream. It is then topped with a berry compote and gorgeous sugar flowers. The second, Aurora Cone, does not make you choose whether it is pink or blue because you get both! DOLE Whip Strawberry and blue soft-serve are swirled atop a blue cone and then topped with white chocolate crispy pearls.

Three other Walt Disney World parks are also serving up a few DOLE Whip options as well! EPCOT will serve the DOLE Whip and a DOLE Whip Cherry-Pineapple Swirl for a limited time at the Refreshment Outpost. Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be offering a few more options like the DOLE Whip and DOLE Whip Float, a DOLE Whip Pineapple-Orange Soda Float, and then a few DOLE Whip options that feature alcohols like Parrot Bay Coconut Rum or ACE Apple Hard Cider. These delicious varieties can be found at Tamu Tamu Refreshments. Don’t forget the Zazu DOLE Whip Lime and Coconut Float is still available at Trilo-Bites for The Lion King anniversary through early September.

One of the best parks to visit during the Summer time in Florida is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Lounging in the cool water or enjoying the thrill of a water slide is the perfect way to chill out. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon however is offering some of those cold sweet treats that are in the DOLE Whip category. In a cup or cone, you can purchase a DOLE Whip, DOLE Whip Strawberry, or green matcha tea soft-serve, or vanilla soft serve. On the menu, exclusively for the Disney H20 Glow After Hours event, there is also a super cute DOLE Whip Bathtub Sundae which contains the flavors of DOLE Whip Pineapple, DOLE Whip Strawberry, and the green matcha tea soft-serve that also has Sprite, a liquid blueberry candy, then topped with whipped cream and boba pearls, and a cherry ontop. The DOLE Whip Strawberry and green matcha tea soft-serve swirl is also being served in a cone only at the Disney’s H20 Glow After Hours event. Be sure to reach out to your Marvelous Mouse Travels agent for assistance with purchasing those tickets!

When I think DOLE Whip, there is one resort that comes to mind, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. With six different locations at this one resort serving the amazing sweet and perfect treat for a hot July day, it is the one stop shop to try multiple varieties! Pineapple Lanai is the place to look for a DOLE Whip all of the time as it is what they specialize in. Currently they offer the DOLE Whip, vanilla soft serve, or a swirl variety. It can also be made into a Pineapple Float or a DOLE Whip with a Rum Floater.

If you’re hanging by the pool, the Barefoot Pool Bar and Oasis Bar & Grill has two options; a Frozen Margarita with DOLE Whip Lime and a Frosty Pineapple. Another DOLE Whip beverage option can be found at Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto are offering a Spikey Pineapple which is a blend of DOLE Whip and Cruzan Mango Rum. If you are not a fan of the cold version, the culinary chefs have created a Pineapple Cupcake that is made with a vanilla cupcake base, DOLE Whip pineapple cheesecake, pineapple buttercream (shaped into a pineapple), and a few white chocolate pieces to make the decorations. This sweet treat can be found at Capt. Cook’s!

If you were to hop on the Monorail, you can venture over to Contempo Café inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Contempo Café always has the cutest desserts, and for now it is a DOLE Whip Cupcake! The yellow cupcake has a DOLE Whip Pineapple mousse topping, that looks like just a DOLE Whip swirl, and topped with a cherry.

Another short trip around the resorts, you could find yourself at Disney’s BoardWalk. This resort is a beautiful location to spend an evening, but it may have just gotten better! BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas is offering a DOLE Whip Smoothie, which is non-alcoholic, and a Captain’s Seaside Sensation with DOLE Whip. Yum!

Do the dates of the DOLE Whip fun fall on your arrival or departure day? Maybe none of the other options sounds appealing? Head to Disney Springs where there are even more varieties of DOLE Whip available, some even sound like they would be too good to pass up. Swirls on the Water has some of the best options when it comes to soft serve ice cream. While the regular DOLE Whip is available, there is also a DOLE Whip Sampler that features DOLE Whip with vanilla soft serve, DOLE Whip Strawberry with coconut soft serve, and DOLE Whip Mango swirled with DOLE Whip Lime that is sprinkled with a chili-lime seasoning. A Key Lime Sundae, Orange Bird Cone, and Orange Bird Float are also on the menu representing the Flavors of Florida celebration through August.

Wine Bar George is also partaking in the DOLE Whip festivities with two refreshing options for the adults. A Frozen Old Fashion that is crafted with the DOLE Whip Orange and a Frozcato made with DOLE Whip.

No matter the time of year that you visit Walt Disney World, a DOLE Whip is always available for purchase and enjoyment. Some of the locations mentioned above, like Storybook Treats in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, have had a rotation of limited time options very frequently. However most of these options are exclusive for the DOLE Whip Day celebration. Need a quick trip or a family vacation planned? Reach out to Marvelous Mouse Travels today!
