Are you planning a Disney vacation with small children? Do you have children who might not be too fond of rides? If the answer is yes, and you're worried about one parent missing out on the rides, well Disney has you covered!
What is a Rider Switch pass?
If you've got a child or children who aren't tall enough for a certain ride, or don't want to go on a ride(Tower of Terror anyone?), and both adults in your party want to visit the attraction, Disney allows you to take turns riding, without the second adult having to go through the line a second time.
How does the Rider Switch work?
First, make sure the ride offers Rider Switch passes. When your group gets to the entrance of the attraction, speak with the cast member for a rider switch pass(make sure the child not riding is present with you!). The person riding second will take the child not riding and wait in a designated area. The first adult gets to ride the attraction and when they are finished, they meet up with the other members or your party waiting. The second adult(and up to two other people if you desire, meaning other kids can ride a second time if they want!) takes the Rider Switch pass and is able to skip the line and join the ride.
What rides offer rider switch?
A general rule of thumb is if the ride has a height requirement, it will offer passes. If you are unsure, ask a cast member.

Can I use Fastpass+ with the Rider Switch Passes?
Yes. With creative planning, you can schedule a Fastpass for the person/kids that will be riding first. When they are finished riding and you all meet up, the second adult can use the Rider Switch pass without having to use a Fastpass.
Do we have to sit and wait for the people riding first?
No! There is no time limit on the Rider Switch pass. The second group riding doesn't have to report back to the attraction immediately after the first group rides. So take the child/children not riding for a snack or visit another attraction. Not only does the pass allow all the adults in your group to ability to ride an attraction, even with young children with you, it allows you to use your time more wisely. If you are like me, and you are traveling with older kids and younger kids, you can hit up attractions geared more towards younger kids, like character meet and greets or rides like Dumbo, while your older kids ride the bigger rides. Everybody wins!
