The most exciting news has been released this week! Disney Cruise Line is setting sail with another first of its kind design ship! Where heroes and villains come together to sail the ocean blue on Disney's newest ship, Disney Destiny. Captain Minnie returns to the helm for the new ship.
Character themes that are to be expected on the ship are “The Lion King,” “Hercules,” “One Hundred and One Dalmatians,” and more! The video released also shows doors with signage from “The Haunted Mansion,” “The Incredibles,” “Spider Man,” and a pirate flag. These doors could mean so many things! What do you think they are referring to?
The filigree art on the bow, or front, of the ship is tradition for the cruise line. Minnie Mouse in her hero dress, cape, and bow will be the artwork for the Disney Destiny. The fine details include the silhouettes of Daisy Duck, Goofy, Donald Duck, Pluto, Mickey Mouse, and Minnie Mouse.
The video released by Disney Parks also shows the official coin of the ship, and on one side is the same hero Minnie that will be present on the bow. On the other side of the coin is a sketch of Disney's newest ship and its name.

Another tradition, this time for the maritime aspect of the ship that bestows good luck, is the keel laying ceremony. This ceremony is the initial start of construction when the first set of modules are brought together. This happened at the Meyer Werft shipyard which is located in Papenburg, Germany.
The Disney Destiny is scheduled for completion in 2025, just one year after the Disney Treasure sets sail. The Disney Destiny is the fourth ship that Disney Cruise Line has announced since 2012. The Disney Wish in 2022, Disney Treasure in 2024, and the Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny in 2025. Prior to the Disney Wish, there were ten years since a new ship joined the fleet. Summer 2025 sailings have been released for Disney Cruise Line, however the Disney Destiny is not present on those sailings.
