Disney's Gone to the Dogs!

Walt Disney World resorts just announced that they are rolling out a new policy that allows dogs inside certain Disney resorts. Up until October 15, only service animals were allowed at Disney resorts, but that's changed! Here's what you need to know about Disney's new policies on man's best friend!

1. Dogs will not be allowed at every Disney resort. Currently, the following resorts will welcome dogs:
Disney's Art of Animation Resort
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
There will be an additional charge if you choose to bring your dog, ranging between $50 and $75 a night depending on the resort you are staying at. A maximum of two dogs will be allowed in a room. Previous policies not allowing dogs inside of Disney parks(aside from service animals) remain and pets accompanying their owners to Walt Disney World will not be allowed in the parks.

2. Not every room of these resorts will be dog friendly. A big concern with this new trial policy has been those who suffer from allergies. Disney will be designating certain rooms and certain areas of these resorts as dog friendly, while the rest of the rooms will remain dog free. If a dog free room is a must, a request can be made to avoid the dog friendly areas of your resort.

3. Dogs will have designated areas to ahem, attend to their business, as well as access to outdoor pet walkways.

4. If you've decided to bring your four legged friends with you on your Disney vacation, there are some things you should know!

If you are bringing your dog, you will receive a special welcome kit from Pluto at check in, including plastic bags, a mat, bowls, maps of walking areas, and more. If you need additional care for your pup during your stay, Best Friends Pet Care on property will offer doggie daycare services.

If you've got any questions regarding Disney's new dog policies, don't hesitate to reach out to your travel agent or contact Disney!
