Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Foods: What to Try (and What to Skip!)

By:  Jenny Bond, a Marvelous Mouse Travels agent

Disneyland is turning 70 years young — and you know Disney doesn’t throw a party without bringing the snacks! The Disneyland Resort is rolling out a limited-time menu of sweet and savory bites across both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure (DCA), and I had the chance to try several of them during my recent trip.

Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary

If you're planning a visit before the celebration ends, here's your ultimate guide to the most buzz-worthy 70th anniversary foods — with my honest opinions on what's worth your time (and money), what's just cute for the ‘gram, and what you can skip.

Sweet & Savory Stars at Disneyland Park

Let’s start at the heart of the celebration — Disneyland Park — where the 70th anniversary foods are not only tasty but also themed to perfection.

Jolly Holiday Bakery Café

Strawberry Shortcake Macaron & Mickey Hat Cookie
These two are seriously photogenic. The Strawberry Shortcake Macaron is a dreamy, oversized treat filled with fresh strawberry flavor and creamy filling — definitely sweet, but perfectly balanced. The Mickey Hat Cookie, shaped like iconic Mickey ears is cute , delicious, and dipped in chocolate for that magical touch.

Instagrammable Rating: Both are a 10/10
Would I get them again? Yes.  The macaron is a bit on the sweet side, but good.  The cookie is classic deliciousness!

Bengal Barbecue

Tahitian Ribs
These ribs pack a smoky, tangy punch with a Polynesian-inspired glaze. They’re meaty, flavorful, and a great savory option if you need a break from all the sugar. They are served with white rice and a tangy slaw for a full meal.

Would I get them again?  No.  They ribs are delicious, but on the fatty side.  And at almost $20, they were a bit pricey.
Tip: Skip these, but grab a skewer or two of their regular offerings....they are some of my favorites!

The Tropical Hideaway

Pineapple Upside Down Cake Sundae
This is where things get tropical — a scoop of DOLE Whip swirled with pineapple upside-down cake crumbs, caramel,  and topped with a cherry. It’s a refreshing, island-inspired treat that’s ideal on a warm afternoon.

Would I get it again? Yes, but definitely share with a friend....it is a lot of sweetness.
Great for: Beating the heat while still indulging in something celebratory.

Golden Horseshoe

Cowboy Fries
These were one of my personal favorites...these are inspired by a classic cheeseburger! Picture golden fries topped with nacho cheese, ground beef, burger sauce, & butter pickles. It’s hearty, flavorful, and a total crowd-pleaser — I shared with several people and everyone loved them!

Would I get it again?  Absolutely!  They really got these right!  If you love loaded fries, don’t skip this one.
Family-Friendly Favorite Alert!

Galactic Grill

Space Place Cottage Fries
The crispy, thick-cut cottage fries are tossed in parmesan butter and parsley, then served with house-made ranch — they are simple, but satisfying!  And the ranch is a perfect pairing.

Would I get it again?   For sure...another one of my top favorites. I couldn't stop eating them!

Red Rose Taverne

70th Stuff
Yes, this is a nod to the “Grey Stuff” — it's a shortbread cookie topped with cookies & cream cake, fresh raspberry, and raspberry jam, all encased in white chocolate mousse topped with sprinkles.

Would I get it again? Yes; the white chocolate mousse on its own is just ok, but I loved the filling!  Definitely sweet, so plan to share!
Instagrammable Rating: 10/10...such a cute little treat with its own candle!

Fun Flavors at Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure has joined the celebration too, with a few creative — and very colorful — additions.

Goofy’s Sky School Churro Cart

Banana Split Churro
My #1 favorite of the entire 70th anniversary lineup! It’s a classic churro rolled in chocolate sugar, drizzled with banana and vanilla sauce, and topped with whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry. It’s nostalgic, fun, and exactly what you want at Disneyland.

Would I get it again?  100%!  It wasn't overly sweet and the combination of flavors was perfection.
If you only try one sweet, make it this.

Schmoozies!

Celebration Waffles
This one gets points for cuteness — the Mickey-shaped waffles are made with a funfetti batter and have a strawberry filling with strawberry whipped topping on the side — but it was my least favorite in terms of taste.

Would I get it again?  No.  The filling was runny & almost had a yogurt-like taste.  I was wishing it was more of a strawberry jam filling.

Pro Tips for Tasting Your Way Through the Parks

Here are a few tips if you plan to enjoy the 70th anniversary foods during your Disneyland trip:

  • Mobile Order When You Can: Especially for busy locations like Jolly Holiday or Red Rose Taverne. It'll save you time and help you avoid long lines.

  • Share to Sample: Many of these items are rich or heavy. Splitting them allows you to try more without hitting a food wall by 2 PM.

  • Take Photos Early: If you’re hoping to capture that perfect food photo, snap it before the family digs in!
