Tis’ the season to continue spooktacular releases! Just announced was the Disneyland Foodie Guide for the Halloween season. These treats are available to general daytime guests and some are even available at the Disneyland Resorts and Downtown Disney District. These Disneyland Halloween treats are different from the ones exclusively offered at the Disney’s Oogie Boogie Bash.
The Oogie Boogie Bash is a special ticketed event that is held on select nights throughout months of September and October. Disney California Adventure Park closes early to day time guests and transforms into not-so-scary fun for the night! While tickets were very hard to get, they sold out the same day of release, some agents from Marvelous Mouse Travels were able to snag some tickets for the event. Be sure to check out the social media pages of MMT to follow along for events from the evening.
Some of the treats for the Halloween season will be available as early as the end of August, some even available for Mobile Ordering while on property. It is such a great way to save time from standing in line.
The first release that has everyone on social media talking is the Minnie Mouse Sipper cup. Minnie is dressed to impress as Winifred from Disney’s Hocus Pocus and looks fabulous! All special released items are limited and likely to sell out!
One thing I am excited about is the Vampire Alien Macaron! This tasty treat is decorated like an Alien from Toy Story but dressed up as a vampire and filled with a salted caramel buttercream and brownie pieces! This item can be found, and available for mobile order, at Alien Pizza Planet.
Another new item at Disneyland Park is the Rest In Chocolate Sundae that will be available at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. This spooky chocolate dipped waffle bowl is filled with Rocky Road ice cream and topped with chocolate cookie crumbs. To top it off you will find gummy worms and a chocolate tombstone.
Hungry Bear Restaurant, located in Critter Country, has five new menu items for the season. A new burger topped with a mix of red pepper cheese sauce, bacon, barbecue sauce, and onion rings! Keeping with the red pepper cheese sauce you can also get onion rings or french fries topped with the sauce. Two of the five new menu items are refreshing beverages. The first is a Chai-Spiced Pumpkin Iced Tea that will have pumpkin candy crystals inside. The next is a delicious Huckleberry Lemonade with a blueberry garnish.
There are a few things I am excited to try this year at Disneyland, and this next item is one of them! The Poison Apple Macaron from Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. The macaron is shaped and decorated just like the Poison Apple from Disney’s Snow White, and filled with a salted caramel and apple compote. Some other new menu items consist of a Pumpkin Chai Cream Puff; an adorable pumpkin shaped cream puff filled with a pumpkin chai flavored mousse and topped with crunchy pearls.
Try the Grey Stuff, it’s delicious. But have you tried the Grave Stuff? The Grey Stuff in a whole new way! The Grey Stuff swirled with a gravestone and sprinkles, and it looks so fun! You can pair the tasty treat with a new Pumpkin Cheesecake Cold Brew, both located at Red Rose Taverne.
Do you need something filling or maybe less sweet? A new Spicy Chili Dog will be available at Refreshment Corner. Everything about this is spicy, from the spicy chili, spicy corn chips, and the fried serrano pepper on top. Tomorrowland Terrace is introducing a Wicked Stepsisters Crispy Pork Bowl and a Pot Roast SmeeWich, Also at Tomorrowland Terrace guests will find two new desserts; a Maleficent Brownie that is decorated with yellow and green mousse flames and horns made from chocolate. The Royal Raspberry Delight is the second dessert; a chocolate tart with red and black mousse and a royal crown.
One last thing that I always touch on for new Foodie Guides are the Churros! Disneyland always has new churro offerings for events, seasonal times, and new films. A Trick or Treat Sweets Churro has shortbread sugar, caramel and chocolate drizzle, and finally topped with TWIX pieces! This is the churro I am most excited about and will be available at Churros and Lemonade Cart in Country Critters! The chocolate cookie crumb rolled, Maleficent Churro, returns this year and also has a peanut butter dipping sauce available at the Churro cart near Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and at the cart near Towne Square. Also new this year is the Orange Citrus Churro which will be served with a citrus cream dipping sauce.
A new Candy Corn Churro is being introduced at Cozy Cone Motel 1. The Churro is has colored sugar topped with pieces of Candy Corn and vanilla icing drizzle. Do you enjoy Candy Corn and think you will try this new treat?
A few new floats are being introduced at Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream. A family friendly item, Created In A Lab Sundae, will be vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry sauce and red licorice. Two adult floats are new, Pumpkin Ale Hard Float and Apple Strudel Hard Float, both will be served with their respective ice cream flavors. The Pumpkin Ale Hard Float will have Elysian Brewing Night Pumpkin Ale with maple ice cream and the Apple Strudel Hard Float is served with Honest Abe Hard Cider and apple strudel ice cream, yum!
Another new adult beverage will be offered at Lamplight Lounge for the season. A butterscotch Apple Mule that is crafted with a spiced rum, butterscotch schnapps, apple-spiced simple syrup, lemon juice, and ginger beer as described by Disney Parks Blog.
Schmoozies, a milkshake bar, will have an adorable new Ursula Shake and Mummy Shake! The Ursula Shake is coconut and taro flavors spun into a shake and topped with a piece of cotton candy that looks like Ursula's hair! The Mummy Milkshake is crafted with whipped cream and “Mickey Ear” cookies with M&M’s.
The Mickey Bat Cookie returns this year and will be available at both Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, Market House, and Red Rose Taverne. This adorable bat shaped shortbread cookie is dipped in chocolate and crafted with Mickey Mouse face.
