“May the force be with you” is probably one of the most well known quotes from the Star Wars franchise. For those of you who enjoy Star Wars, there has been some fantastic news coming from Disneyland for a major park event(s) happening in just a few short months!
While Walt Disney World and Disneyland both offer the same great Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge experience, Disneyland has something seasonal that is just a little different and more exciting! Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite is returning for 2024, and with twice as many dates! All dates sell out so quickly for this event, so be sure to act quickly on Friday, February 23, 2024 when tickets for the general public go on sale. If you have a Magic Key, you will have access to the tickets on February 21st and 22nd.
Official dates for the event have been listed. In April there will be five dates: April 16, 18, 23, 25, and 30th. Then May will only have three dates; May 2, 7, and 9th. Entry for the special ticketed event begins at 6 p.m. on event days.
If you’ve never had the chance to experience Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite, I have a few tidbits of information on what to expect for this year! We’re talking food, merchandise, and entertainment exclusive for this event! Disney Destinations states that there are over twenty treats served and only available during this special ticketed event. Items like a Street-style Elote Burger, Pork Belly Sisig-inspired Loaded Fries, Chocolate Funnel Cake, and Crab Fritters will be available at select locations throughout the park Cafe Orleans, a table service restaurant, will also have a menu with select specialty items. Reservations are highly recommended for this dining experience.
Dress to impress! Guests that are dressed in themed costumes will be invited to actually participate in the cavalcade happening on Main Street U.S.A.! The Fleet of Fandom cavalcade features Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, along with those in themed costumes, and once it reaches Sleeping Beauty Castle, there is a group photo and the castle will have a galactic theme projection! Marching down Main Street U.S.A. with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse sounds like the perfect experience! Costumes are subject to Disney guidelines, please be sure to check those guidelines before deciding on your outfit for the evening.
Continuing throughout the park you will find other fun experiences like Star Wars Nite Lightsaber Instructional! Yes, bring those lightsabers into the parks and learn “all-new maneuvers specially crafted for this year’s recruits” as stated by Disney Destinations.
What is a special event without a dance party? On Main Street, U.S.A. guests will find a Galactic Dance Party! Heading into Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and taking those lightsabers, guests can participate and experience a Resistance Show of Unity! As with all things Disney, there will be special photo opportunities!
More exciting news, or at least for those wanting to purchase tickets. This year there will be a new “Notify Me” option for the queue. This will allow guests in the queue to purchase tickets have the option to be notified digitally when it is their turn to purchase tickets. You will need to provide an email address, and watch for that email to come through because you will only have ten minutes to return with the link provided.
