It's a known rule that adults cannot dress up at Disney unless it is for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. While it's sad for some of us, (because who doesn't want to grow up to be their favorite princess) the costuming rule is there to keep the magic real for our little princes and princesses. But that doesn't mean you can't go to the parks in style!
Disneybounding is an alternative form of cosplay that originated in 2012 by Leslie Kay where Disney and fashion collide. You can check out her site at http://disneybound.co/ for ideas on your own Disneybounds!
Cosplayers, costumers and Disney fans began taking their favorite Disney characters and creating outfits based on color and themed accessories to make casual attire that was noticeably inspired by a character.
What started as just a word meaning Disney bound, as in we are going to Disney, the phrase took on a fun new meaning. Disneybounding makes for wonderful photoshoots and character interactions! It's so fun to see the creativity and individuality that comes with this trend. Couples can Disneybound together, families...or you can go solo! The main objective is to be YOU...with a splash of Disney.
