When you are wandering through Walt Disney World and Disneyland, you will see most guests wearing Disney Magicband 2 and Disney Magicband+. This wearable technology offers ease and convenience throughout the resorts and parks. Both versions of the Magicbands will allow you to unlock your Disney resort room with just a tap of the band, and also allows you to tap and go for purchases all around Disney property.
Coming soon, Disney Cruise Line is upgrading their technology to something similar to the Disney Magicband+, starting with select sailings aboard the Disney Wish! The wearable bands, called DisneyBand+, will be exclusive to Disney Cruise Line.
These bands will be an upgradable option of the current Key to the World Card, at a separate cost. Disney Cruise Line has announced that there will be 3 designs that premier with the technology, and exclusive for the Disney Cruise Line. The bands will provide quick access to your stateroom, and tap and go purchases around the ship, which will charge directly to the card you placed on file. The design is waterproof, which means you never have to worry about taking it off for a dip in a pool onboard, or snorkeling at Disney’s Castaway Cay!
DisneyBand+ will also benefit the children ages 3 years and older by replacing the access bands for the kids clubs both on the ship and at the private island of Disney’s Castaway Cay. There will also be other magical enhancements that have not been announced, with the use of the DisneyBand+ onboard the ship.
The new technology will also work just like at the parks, where photographers around the ship capture magical moments, scan your band, and they will load into your account. These memorable souvenirs can be purchased as a package or as a single photo. Packages alway offer great savings though.
