Each resort has a signature scent that helps immerse you in the stories.
There has been a lot to celebrate during the 50th anniversary celebration across more than 25 resort hotels. Now it is time to take a look at some of the exciting resort renovations that have been happening at Walt Disney World. Disney World resort renovations include new dining options, remodeled rooms, expansions and a refreshed lobby, new furniture, smart technology and much more. The Disney Resorts Collection has been consistently rolling out updates to welcome guests home.

This upcoming year is sure to be exciting as Disney’s BoardWalk is the latest focus for renovations. The resort is evolving into something very special as the idyllic boardwalk is reinvigorated. This year a series of refurbishments kicked off for the resort. Delectable Dining, new furnishings, a new Northeast-inspired deli, a café, Carousel Coffee, in the lobby. The café which is coming soon will have specialty lattes and pastries.

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is also under construction. This whimsical table service restaurant and bakery is expected to open in 2023. You will soon be welcomed into the BoardWalk Resort by a lively lobby, and newly refreshed rooms that complement the decor and design through the resort.

2023 is also the 30th anniversary for Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. July 1, 2023 is the anniversary date! The resort has received some grand touches to weave the familiar storybook charm into the Victorian Elegance the resort is known for. The flagship resort is having guest rooms updated as it ushers in its third decade of magic. Renovations will include the lobby being refurbished while maintaining the classic theming we know and love with a few new enhancements.

The Story doesn’t end in the lobby! It continues as you dine under the London sky at Citricos. This is inspired by “Mary Poppins Returns”. You can end your evening with a drink at Enchanted Rose Lounge, which is inspired by “Beauty and the Beast”. Victoria & Albert’s is the culinary crown jewel of Walt Disney World, and a winner of the AAA Five Diamond Award. This just reopened to rave reviews and a newly renovated interior.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort, one of the original hotels, recently received enhancements as well. The thoughtful updates will tie together the retro-modern charm. The lobby now features stylist designer Mary Blair's flair of color within the a-frame walls and architecture. The new murals complement the lovingly curated collection of historical photography of the resorts construction as well as modern art.
As the monorail runs through the hotel the retro boldness of the resort travels into the newly refurbished rooms. In the guestrooms you can find super touches from “Incredibles”. This is the first time the stories have been featured in the design of the resort.

The shores of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort have also been graced with updates. Special attention has been given to merge the heritage and charm of the South Seas with “Moana”. Paying attention to the modern touches, pattern and textures from the film.
Nearly all elements of this beautiful resort have been refurbished over the past few years. The open lobby that is so inviting, the dining locations, outdoor spaces, guest rooms and more are renovated.

Disney’s All-Star Resorts—Movies, Music and Sports are also partaking in refurbishments with new rooms and open inviting lobbies. These resorts are known for their larger-than-life icons, engaging pool areas and activities.

Don’t forget the *fin-tastic* new designs of the rooms in the Trinidad area at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. This resort is the home of the main HUB for the newest form of transportation throughout the resort, the Disney Skyliner. This is another mode of complimentary transportation for Disney Resort hotel guests along with the monorail and buses. Disney Resort guests receive early entry to the theme parks as well as surprise pop-up appearances from favorite Disney pals. Hey Disney! will be rolling out to the resort hotels in phases across Disney Resort hotels as the new voice assistant.
While this seems like a lot of changes it is just a small taste of what the resort teams have been up to and there is more to come. No matter if your dream vacation is a campsite, or treehouse in nature, a bungalow or cabin by the water, there is a refreshed resort just for you.
