Disney Wish Preview Sailing - Day 1 Recap

Marvelous Mouse Travels was invited by Disney to experience a special 3-night preview sailing aboard the Disney Wish. Guests were mostly travel agents, content winners and the media.

We woke up in our casita at Disney’s Coronado Springs resort, packed up our luggage and headed to a quick breakfast at the Mercado. Soon enough Disney Cruise Line busses arrived and whisked us off to Port Canaveral.

Check in was a breeze and before we knew it, they welcomed Marvelous Mouse Travels and we walked into the Grand Hall of the Disney Wish.

Our jaws dropped. We were prepared to be blown away but nothing could prepare us for how spectacular this first view of the Wish was. A castle. On the sea. With the most beautiful chandelier as its centerpiece. The first of many tears were shed.

From there we checked out our beautiful cabin, located on Deck 10 Forward. A Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah, ours was Little Mermaid themed and had that new cabin smell! Gorgeous fixtures and just so modern and new.

We were hungry! Up next was lunch at Marceline Market, the buffet option up on the top deck of the ship. Upon arrival a cast member guided us through and showed us all of the offerings before we found a table. We really enjoyed the premade charcuterie boards and salads, the different dishes from around the world and of course the raw bar that Disney Cruise Line is famous for.

After lunch we continued to explore the ship. We were very impressed by the adult-only outdoor spaces. The infinity pool at the back of the ship was beautiful and we couldn’t wait to get in. The extra padded loungers looked perfect for curling up with a book.

Soon it was time to sail away, so we went up to the top deck to find a spot to watch the show. Unfortunately, the clouds rolled in and before we knew it the sky opened and we got drenched! The party was moved inside to the Grand Hall where Mickey, Minnie and the gang took photos with the crowd.

From there it was cocktail time so off to The Bayou we went. Talk about beautiful. The lounge was themed from Princess and The Frog, but subtly so. Beautiful flowers on the ceiling, rich velvet upholstery, and a killer cocktail menu.

At 6:30 pm it was showtime at The Walt Disney Theater. “Seas The Adventure” was fun for the whole family and cannot be missed! Goofy takes the ship steering wheel from Captain Minnie and we off we went on a journey through Disney’s greatest hits. Highlights include a medley by Merida, Elsa and Moana that will give you goosebumps, and a visit to Tiana’s Palace that will have you dancing in your seat. We all agreed this was the best show we had seen on Disney Cruise Line. More tears.

Dinner Time!

We dined at Arendelle, A Frozen Dining Adventure and we celebrated Anna and Kristoff’s engagement! A party it was, with singing and entertainment through out the meal, and characters visiting our table! The food was excellent and we tried every dessert on the menu!

After dinner we participated in some of the adult only shows and entertainment. “Heard That” was a dueling name that tune, followed by “Match Your Mate.”

We had a wonderful first day aboard the Disney Wish! Stay tuned for Day 2!
