The show debuted on May 27, 2025 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and replaced Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy in the Sunset Showcase theater and lives up to its name in charm and theatrical flair. This show sets the tone for the new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom!
From the moment you enter the theatre, the spectacle begins. You are seated facing a large main screen flanked by roughly 20 smaller screens around the stage. Before the action begins, villainous eyes, silhouettes, and animated vignettes flicker across these screens—setting an eerie, engaging tone before the performance even starts.
Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent each break through the Magic Mirror and take center stage, delivering a memorable performance filled with wit, style, and just a touch of drama. But the magic doesn’t stop there—guests will also catch glimpses of other iconic villains lurking in the shadows like Jafar, Queen of Hearts, Hades, Ursula, Scar, and Yzma through digital projections onto frames throughout the stage or through the magic mirror.
Throughout the performances you will experience transforming sets—like Cruella’s high-fashion studio, smoke filled bubbles that fill the room, Hook’s pirate deck, Maleficent’s thorn-laden castle and fire-breathing dragon all come alive with fog, lighting and mirror magic. The high-tech, immersive experience is as visually dazzling as it is theatrically engaging. There is never a dull moment during this show!
Music is front and center: The show’s music is a dynamic blend of nostalgic villain songs and a brand-new Magic Mirror anthem that merges rock, orchestra, and a touch of Gothic charm. This fusion of genres gives the production a theatrical flair that's both edgy and grand, perfectly matching the theatrical themes of villainy and redemption. Cruella rocks a thrumming remix of her theme, Hook sails in with a comedic pirate chant, and Maleficent renders a dark, haunting version of “Once Upon a Dream.”
As the show concludes, the power shifts to the audience. Who truly deserves redemption—or sympathy? You decide, you become the judge! A roar of applause, cheers, or even boos crowns the villain deemed the “most unfairly treated,” making each performance uniquely interactive. The Villain deemed the winner will then return to the stage for a final bow or quip.
