We have officially welcomed 2024! With the kickoff of the new year, Disney Destinations has many wonderful things to offer and look forward to. The year began with new promotions like Walt Disney World Resort offering free Dining packages for Disney+ Subscribers, Disney Cruise Line offering 50% off deposits, and another up to 35% off room discount at Walt Disney World Resorts. Terms, conditions, and exclusions apply to all promotions. Now we have some other amazing events that would be wonderful to look forward to during your next Disney vacation!
The first piece of fun activities to look forward to is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening. Both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park have gone under construction to take an existing attraction and replace it with the magic of Tiana, Prince Naveen, and even the beloved Louie on a journey of Mardi Gras celebration. There is not an official opening date, but I’m sure we will hear something soon! Also at both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be offering new characters and story lines inside the attraction Star Tours - The Adventures Continues. Also happening at Walt Disney World is all day Park Hopping! For a few years now, guests at Walt Disney World have had to check-in to their reserved park for the day and then wait until 2 p.m. Now guests with dated tickets no longer need Park Reservations, but they also do not have to wait until 2 p.m. to Park Hop to a different theme park! This is super exciting news! The next big news happening in the parks is the new “The Little Mermaid” stage show happening at Hollywood Studios. The show that was previously shown will be reimagined with new stage effects but the same beautiful songs we all know and love from the film.
In the previous few years EPCOT has undergone some major renovations around the park. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana has already began welcoming guests with astounding features. The amazing Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has become guests favorite attraction, and Luminous - The Symphony of Us has premiered as the nighttime spectacular. Guests will also have a new space soon called CommuniCore Plaza, CommuniCore Hall. This will be a space for guests to gather, entertainment, and even exhibits for the festivals.
Heading towards the West Coast, guests will also find equally amazing new opportunities in the parks. Returning for 2024 is Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort! Join so many of the Pixar friends as they parade through the park during the “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” which will be featured at Disney California Adventure Park while the nighttime spectacular, “Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” will be displayed at Disneyland Park. These fun filled events will be happening from April 26th through August 4th.
At the end of January 2024, the Paradise Pier Hotel will be fully transformed into the Pixar Place Hotel. While most of the renovations are complete, some of the guest rooms are still under construction. The new eatery, The Great Maple, has already begun welcoming guests for delicious eats.
The news that many guests have been waiting for, Fantasmic!, has an official return date to Disneyland! Beginning May 24th, guests will be transported into the magic of Disney with Sorcerer Mickey in Rivers of America. This announcement also brings the return of the iconic “Peter Pan” scene to the show!
Outside of the park, there is also some really great news about events returning to Disneyland. runDisney has officially made a return for 2024, including a new Halloween-themed half marathon!
Disney Cruise Line is not being left out of the 2024 fun! First up, the debut of the Treasure! While it will not be available for sailing until the end of December 2024, it is available now for booking! Also coming in select 2024 sailings on Disney Cruise Line is the newest Disney port, Disney Lookout Cay located in the Bahamas. Guests will get a look at the local Bahamian culture and art at this island along with beautiful beaches and relaxing areas.
Both Pixar Day at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea are returning for select ships and sailings. These days at sea brings characters to life onboard the ship with fun-filled activities all day long including deck parties, music, and more!
