Fort Lauderdale is home of a Disney Cruise Line port, and now there is a brand new terminal open for guests boarding their magical cruise! The port is located at Port Everglades, and has an under the sea type of feel to it, which is perfect for setting sail on the seas with Mickey, Minnie, and their pals.
The Fort Lauderdale terminal is the second year round location for the Disney Cruise Line, with Orlando being the first. The first cruise ship to sail from the new terminal is the Disney Dream, which has already begun sailing from here and next is the Disney Magic with its first sailing from this terminal being May 9, 2024. This port, and the mix of the two ships, offers three, four, and five nights sailings into the Caribbean and The Bahamas. The new terminal will also be home to a Disney Cruise Line ship that will be setting sail to the newest Disney port, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point beginning in 2024.
As mentioned before, the new terminal is designed around under the sea, and guests will spot characters from Disney’s Pixar animated film “Finding Nemo” throughout. With the blues, greens, and other pops of color, guests are transported to a whole new world full of fish, coral, and Nemo’s friends as they say “later dude” as you board. One famous area that really takes guests and leads them to the ship is the larger than life Mickey Mouse shaped doorway. It is where the real magic begins and you are scanned in for the final time during embarkation.
