Disney Cruise Line for Adult Children

By:  Stacey Johnston, a Marvelous Mouse Travels agent

I’ve been cruising with Disney Cruise Line for years now—long enough to see our family grow through every stage on board. From spending time in the It’s a Small World Nursery, to the Oceaneer Club, then on to the Edge, the Vibe, and finally the 1820 Society—we’ve experienced it all.

Our daughters loved the structure of the organized kids’ clubs from childhood through their teen years. So when it was time to choose a place for their 21st birthday, a Disney Cruise was the natural decision. We took them on a Disney Cruise in Europe—and it was amazing! They enjoyed sharing their first bottle of wine at dinner with mom and dad, and I loved watching them blossom into confident young adults. One of my daughters completely took ownership of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, planning out each day’s schedule—right down to the last trivia contest!

A typical day looked like this: breakfast, a breathtaking European excursion, then back to the ship for bingo, a snack, and maybe a nap in the adults-only pool area—Quiet Cove Pool on board. Evenings were filled with Disney’s famous rotational dining, Broadway-style entertainment (always with popcorn in hand), and then adult nightlife—like Match Your MateSilent Disco, karaoke, or the special guest performers such as magicians and ventriloquists.

What touched me most was how the entertainers took time to connect with my daughters after the shows—something that made them feel seen and valued as young adults.

Now, my grown children have come to appreciate the same thing I do: the quality, the service, and the comfort of Disney Cruise Line. Even as adults, they’re always eager to come back and sail with us again—proof that Disney magic truly grows with you.
