Disney Parks offers two locations within the USA: Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida. While both locations offer a variety of similar experiences, they both also offer so many different things at the same time. This makes them almost not comparable. One thing is for certain, they each know how to host a festival! Currently, and for a short while longer you can find EPCOT International Festival of the Arts at Walt Disney World. Disneyland, however, has just announced the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival that will take place from March 3, 2023 through April 25, 2023. Along with some of the special offerings that will be available during the festival this year. Please note that valid admission and park reservations are required to enter Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Parks.
Disney California Adventure Park will have Outdoor Kiosks, live cooking demonstrations, and live music during this festival, so let's take a little bit of a closer look at what you can expect when you visit. First be sure to pick up a Tasting Passport. This little pocket sized booklet will be your guide around the festival. It will provide you with information about what is served at each location. And in previous years, there has been a Sip and Savor Pass. This is a pre-purchased card that allows you an allocated amount of food and beverages, generally 8 passes, at select kiosks throughout the festival for a discounted price.
During the weekends (Friday - Sunday) of the festivals you will find live culinary demonstrations. Some of these are Disney’s own fabulous chefs, some you will find from the local area, and some from around the world! Each displaying a masterpiece of their own, and showing you the skills used to create them.
Often when I hear of mixology classes or tastings, I first think of a cruise activity, brewery or vineyard. However, Disney always does it right, and has brought those incredible experiences to the parks! These experiences are at an additional fee, and will need to be reserved in advance, so be sure to reach out to your travel agent for your next Disney vacation for assistance with how to do so.
The Outdoor Kiosks will offer a wide variety of food, wine, beer, and other specialty beverages that are not generally available in the parks. With over 12 kiosks available, there is sure to be something to please everyone's palate.
In true Disney fashion, literally, there are merchandise locations that will offer Disney Food & Wine speciality merchandise. Items like the spirit jersey, ears, and tumblers tend to sell quickly, so be sure to book your Disneyland vacation early to grab those items.
Walt Disney World also offers the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival with a much longer run time, also later in the year from mid-July through mid-November.
