There are plenty of options included for dining at Hotel Xcaret Mexico! This unique and authentic Mexican resort is a great family-friendly all-inclusive resort in the Playa del Carmen area of the Riviera Maya. Dining is included with your resort stay (with the exception of the premium adult-only restaurant), so use this post as a guide to plan where you want to dine when you visit!

Hotel Xcaret Mexico has 11 restaurants onsite, 13 bars including a swim-up bar, and room service is also included! So many options for dining at Hotel Xcaret!

On our first night, we had a lovely dinner at Las Playas which is a casual restaurant with an assortment of foods from salads to fish, steak, and so much more. We tried multiple options (so nice when you can order several dishes to try!) including all four desserts. The Corn Cake with Eggnog Sauce and the Rice Pudding Ice Cream were surprise favorites (especially since I'm not much of a Rice Pudding fan).

La Trajinera is another casual option with right out at the pool. It's an easy option for a quick buffet lunch, but is also available for breakfast and dinner....and the views of the pool and ocean are lovely from here.

Cantina Los Faroles is a Mexican restaurant focused on food from the Oaxacan region. The restaurant is beautifully lit with lanterns and also features live music at night. A sampler platter is available if you want to try a variety of things from this region.

Families will not want to miss Chibali, which is near the family pool and kids club. There are great familiar favorites here that are likely to please everyone. You can find everything from grilled items to pasta & pizza here. They have amazing milkshakes as well. Don't miss the candy shop tucked inside this open-air restaurant. It is self-serve, so grab a bag and help yourself to some treats....or even ice cream!

A vegan restaurant that is an an exceptional experience that even non-vegans should put on their must-do list is Bio. It is tucked into the caves of Xcaret and offers delicious plant-based options for all.

If you can't decide what you want or are short on time, you will definitely want to visit Mercado de la Merced! Mercado is an abundant buffet that features many stations. I loved exploring this buffet because I kept discovering new things I had missed before! They have many options that are made fresh right in front of you - crepes, tortillas, quesadillas, smoothies, omelettes, and so much more.
Exclusive to those staying at Casa Fuego (the premier section of Hotel Xcaret Mexico), Fuego is an Italian-Mexican fusion restaurant with views of the ocean. Reservations required for dinner only.
Teatro del Rio is a 6-course dinner accompanied by a show of traditional music and dance! What a fun experience that is still included! A Caribbean theme is features on Monday/Wednesday/Friday while a Mexican theme is on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. Reservations required.
Xin-Gao features multiple Japanese culinary styles from teppanyaki to sushi, fusion, and more. Reservations are required here.

If you're looking for a special or romantic dinner, Las Cuevas offers a not-to-be-missed dinning experience. It is a steakhouse and buffet in the caves of Hotel Xcaret! This is a great one to schedule for a birthday, anniversary, or on your last night. On Sundays, a brunch is offered at an additional cost. Reservations required for both.
The only restaurant that is an additional cost is Ha', which is an adult-only restaurant from Carlos Gaytán, the first Mexican chef to receive a Michelin Star. It is a nine-course tasting experience and at the time of this post was an additional $149/person. Reservations are required here with payment in advance.

In addition to all the restaurants, bars, and room service offered at Hotel Xcaret Mexico, you will also run into carts and stands with additional options throughout your stay, all included. We saw things like fruit, chips & dips, tacos, drinks, street corn, and more offered at these stands. They are the perfect snack option when you want a little something between meals.
Your travel agent can help you arrange the reservations needed ahead of time for dining at Hotel Xcaret Mexico or you can also make reservations once you arrive at the resort.
