Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club resorts are best known for their pool and dining locations! This nautical themed resort is like a beach getaway in itself. From the white sand beaches to the lazy river at the pool. The resort is nothing short of luxurious and relaxing.
Between the two locations there are four sit down dining locations, three lounges, and three quick service locations, which means there are options for everyone!
This last trip I decided to try the Ale & Compass restaurant. When people bring up the Yacht and Beach Club you hear stories about their time meeting characters at Cape May Café or attempting to devour the whole kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream. Previously known as the Captain’s Grille, the restaurant always had a rustic nautical feel with very warm and fulfilling New England style comfort food. And let me tell you….it did not disappoint!

The food here was absolutely amazing! The flavors were unique and complementary to each dish ordered. Our waitress was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us to decide! We started with multiple appetizers because they all sounded amazing and what was even better was, they all tasted amazing. The restaurant is known for their Parker Bread Rolls and spreads: pub cheese, bacon jam and citrus butter. This could have been a full meal for the two of us! Then we had garlic shrimp and buffalo style cauliflower and the portion sizes were very generous!

Next was the main course- we had a steak with fries and a side salad, and a curry protein bowl with grilled chicken. The protein bowl is meant to be served with vegan sausage, but I asked to substitute with grilled chicken, and they did with no issues at all! Both meals were cooked perfectly, and we couldn’t have been happier!

I have found there it is rare to come across a meal that isn’t good in Disney, and I have also found that it is hard to say which restaurants are my favorite. But what I can tell you is that if you are able to get over to the Yacht and Beach Club for a meal you need to try to get reservations at Ale & Compass. The meal, the service, and the atmosphere really exemplified the magic and enjoyment that Disney defines!
